"Oh hey, What's up?" I replied excitedly, trying to redeem myself from whatever the hell just happened. I carefully shift my, now demolished, phone to my right ear as I gather the rest of my garbage into the trash can.
"I was just going to ask you a few questions about your trip... If you're not available I can call back later." He states, obviously trying to ignore my fall and save me from embarrassment.
"I have like fifteen-ish minutes left of break, I'm free!" I insist, getting more and more excited by the second.
"Alright haha.. Do you prefer any certain airline?"
"Nope, anything works!"
"Okay okay, do you have any certain dates in mind? It's whatever works best for you, we don't want to interfere with work or school or anything else you have going on." Brett politely asks. I can hear keyboard clicks faintly in the background.
"I have a shorter summer break because it's college but, it starts in about three weeks and that will give me enough time to call off work, if that sounds okay to you." I reply, as nervous as ever.
"Yep, sounds good. Everyone should be here except Aleks, he'll be back on the fifth I believe. Andddddd.... Were you wanting to come for one month or both?"
"Oh I don't want to intrude, I'm sure you guys are super busy an-" He cuts me off without hesitation.
"So two months it is!..." Brett quickly decides for me and I let out a small laugh. " And just to verify we can go bar-hopping, you are over twenty one, right?"
"Yes, I'm twenty two as of a few weeks ago, so I've had my fair share of forgotten nights" I giggle absentmindedly. He lets out a quiet laugh before replying.
"Okay, sounds like you'll fit in just fine! I will text you later on with flight and hotel info. We're all super excited to meet you.. But until then, stay on your feet, okay?" My cheeks are completely red. Omfg. I hate myself so much right now.
"I'm really excited too and I'll try..." I say between small nervous laughs. "... Thank you and have a good one!"
"You too Hallie, I'll keep in touch." We hang up and I feel like I can finally breathe again. I head back to my car to touch up my face (I worked up quite the sweat), put my red and black makeup apron back on, and walked back in. As I re-entered the store, I noticed we had slowed down a lot. THANK GOD. I don't know how much more stress I could handle today. I see my manager wiping down one of the displays, looking to be in somewhat of a good mood.
"Hey Amanda, I was hoping to talk to you about requesting some time off..."
