In one of the guest bedrooms was a woman sitting on a large bed whilst her eyes were glued to the television. She heard ambient voices that sounded like her and her sisters' projects, though they seemed more high strung than usual.

Not long after hearing feet running on the floor, she heard the faint sound of someone else quickly walking through the hallway. The owner of those footsteps rushed into the room, hurriedly closed the door, and locked it. It sounded like she was out of breath by the time she got to the woman's side.

"Stephanie, what's gotten into you?" Ken turned towards her sister whom was holding a block that was glowing with a blue hue. The eldest of the two rolled her eyes, knowing full well what she was holding and why it adopted a different color.

"It's the boss and he wants to talk to us!" Stephanie's face was shiny from sweat, not to mention her pupils had shrunk. It was thanks to the paused television and the silence that came with it she could've sworn that her sister's heart was beating faster than normal. It was beating so fast that she may as well have thought that it was going to burst right then and there.

"I'm not bothered by it. Let the communicator ring all it wants. I want nothing to do with the guy." Ken dismissed nonchalantly. Her hand slithered carefully back to its place on the remote, but her body was stopped by the mere annoyance of Stephanie's anxiety.

"Ken, we can't just ignore him, he's the boss!" She added. Now wanting to find a way to get her sister to calm down, she worked towards attempting to reassure her.

"Yes, we can," Ken started. "Look, sis, how do you think the boss is gonna react to one dead daughter, one missing daughter, and two daughters reconciling with their projects? It's obvious that we've failed our mission." Ken reasoned.

Stephanie saw reason to now adopt a more calm disposition towards the matter; however, she knew just how powerful their boss was. If they didn't answer the communicator, it would surely make him more angry than if they just answered and told the truth. "Sis, won't ignoring him make things worse?"

Her sister chuckled. "No. I promise you, things will be fine."

The communicator lost its blue glow, but that only threw Stephanie into yet another panic attack. "Sis, that was the first transmission from the boss we missed. He's gonna kill us!"

The older sister perched a hand on her shoulder to get her to return to that relatively calmer state. She flashed a smile at her and said, "relax, he won't know a thing about this. He'll just assume we're dead, right? End of story, right?"

The youngest of the duo drew in a deep breath and let it out as she returned that smile.

Stephanie and Mackenzie reacted immediately to the sudden, burning voltage that rocketed through their bodies. Their muscles tightened as their bodies collapsed; they uncontrollably convulsed and their minds went blank while they released deafening screams. Even if it lasted for half a minute, it felt like an hour.

The sisters struggled to get to their feet. "What was that?" She turned to Stephanie to see terror that mingled naturally with white strands that were lost in her dark brown locks. Even when she was hyperventilating, her words managed to emerge.

"I told you, Ken, it's the boss!"

Fed up with the situation, Ken finally lost her calm disposition."Not that! The electrocution!" Her screaming sent her sister into a terrified bout of silence. "Damn it!" Ken bleated as she punched the nearest wall. A faint crack was left behind from the single wake of knuckles.

She drew in an infuriated breath and ran her hands through her hair with that same energy. "Well, the boss can forget it. I'm not talking to him and neither will you. Gimme that!" Ken forcefully took the box away from her sister and walked towards a window.
