"...I kind of want five pumpkins," Jake mumbles, stepping out the car.

"Why five?" I ask, snickering.

"One for Sammy, One for Spots, One for William, One for me and one for you," He smiles, putting his hands in his pockets. He walks over to the pumpkin patch, and I follow behind him.

Oh fuck. I don't know how much he cares about me, but the way he just said that sounded adorable and I wasn't prepared for it. Jake seems to ignore my reaction and place a small pumpkin on his head. He does a weird wiggle, probably thinking I'm not paying attention.

He dances to 'The Monster Mash' Which someone was playing on loud radios. He makes sure to balance the pumpkin, wiggling his arms and hopping around on one foot.

He looks hilarious and I can't. I burst out in loud laughter, and Jake looks genuinely shocked. I grab my stomach, which was starting to ache.

"What- oh my god- what are you doing?" I question, wheezing.

He shrugs, "The monster mash. You know, it's a graveyard smash," He makes that symbol that every surfer does while going 'Narly duuude'.

"Anyway," Jake places the pumpkin down, "We can come back here when we're ready to go, Since it's so close to the entrance. What do you want to do?" He asks. He wraps his arm around my neck, pulling me closer to him.

I kind of wanted to play some kind of game, but there's what looks like a cooking area, and I'm most definitely gonna go eat.
"Food,"

Jake nods, "Yeah Okay. I don't know if the carnival food is any good, though,"

"I don't know either, but funnel cake is damn good," I smile. Jake snickers and nods.

It's a pretty long walk from the pumpkin patch to the food, but we did it. I ordered a funnel cake and cola while Jake ordered a large cup of boiled peanuts and a beer. The way he ate them was weird. He would take one- Salty and wet and gross- and throw it in his mouth. The whole thing. Shell and everything. But then he'd bite it and spit out the shell.

He ate a bunch of them before putting the lid on the cup and sipping his beer.

Gross. I pick off pieces of the funnel cake and throw it in my mouth. I'm a huge fan of funnel cake, but I can't eat a lot in one go. I have to take a break because my tongue gets bored of the taste before I start to crave it again.

"So what are we doing after this?" He asks, grabbing another peanut.

I shrug. I didn't think that far ahead. "There's a huge music festival a..city away? It's at least two hours away," I recall. I read an article about it and would love to be there.

"Oh? What kind of music?" Jake asks, spitting out the shells. He seems actually interested.

"I dunno. EDM or hip hop," I shrug. Honestly I like both those so who cares?

"Oh! Then yeah let's go down there. How long does it last?"

"At least two days?"

"Perfect!" Jake gets up, leaving his beer but grabbing the cup of peanuts, "We can have a nice vacation! Getting wasted and shit," He smiles.

I honestly wasn't prepared for a vacation, but I'm sure Jake can handle the punishments from that and not me, because I could care less. I think- No, I know Jake's gonna get more wasted than me. He does that a lot, mostly because of stress. Probably because of stress.

Dancing. I didn't think Jake could dance like that. Turns out the festival was EDM, and Jake left William to find a decent hotel. We left all our stuff besides Jake's card and our phones, which Jake put in his front pockets, in the car.
