She laughed happily and stayed with them both until Red stormed in. "Yellow! What the hell are you doing here?!" The servants stood and bowed to their Emperor before saying farewell and leaving.
"Red I'll do as I please...," she whispered and looked over at him.
He sneered, "you managed to survive, huh?"
White Wine entered the throne room, her hair silver and neatly tied in a braid. "My children, what are you two bickering for?" She was their grandmother, the original ruler of the food souls.
"Nothing, Nanna!" She smiled softly and hugged her softly.
"Just nonsense...," Red added in a mumble.
The old woman held Yellow and looked at her grandson. "Everything is nonsense, some of it just seems to make sense!"
"Whatever you say, old gal." He rolled his eyes and walked away from them.
"Why do you think he acts this way?" She looked at the old woman, pain in her eyes at her brother's new found behavior.
"He's jealous. He got the throne, but you got the personality, the brains, the looks, and even the love of his people. You were cursed to be born two minutes after him, but he was cursed to be born. And, now, you have a chance to rule beside the woman he has wanted for just as long as you have."
She blushed softly and looked at her. "Nanna, thank you... You can really cheer me up!" She wiped her eyes and hugged her again. "I'm determined to rule with justice!"
"You will do just- just-." She began coughing, just another one of her fits.
"Nanna!" She held her as she lost her balance. "Plum! Come at once!" she called out for him. He ran in and looked at the elder.
She couldn't breathe as she clutched her chest. The fit soon passed and she looked up at Yellow. "Ah...I see the stars." No, she wasn't look at Yellow, but through her; and the ceiling; and into the heavens.
"What's wrong...?" She whimpered and held her close. Plum tried to heal her, but he couldn't stop death's cold grip on the former ruler.
She placed her frail hands on her grandchild's cheeks and smiled. "I left you a gift...in the back..." She never got to finish as her hands dropped down and her eyes stared, forever still.
She let out a pained scream before Plum muffled her using his chest. She began to cry loudly, getting his suit wet.
Pumpkin and Moon Pie rushed in into the throne room with Red Wine. Moon quickly took Yellow, cradling her. "It was a long time coming, ma'am," Pumpkin muttered. She looked at Red, orange eyes wide. She knew he was behind it, she knew White had died because of him.
She held onto Moon like her life depended on it. She kept crying, she was already sensitive about today. Plum consoled her softly, trying to calm her down. Red laughed and hissed out his words, "she was old already! She was bound to die!"
Pumpkin nodded sadly and rubbed Red's arm gently. "Sir, pretend to grieve with your sister... If you get close, you get her trust," she whispered before backing off.
He sneered softly and nodded. "There, there, Yellow... We can inform everyone and send her off." He pat his sister's head.
"Red... She looked so healthy... How did this happen?!" She whimpered.
Moon slipped away and helped Pumpkin take away the old woman's corpse. "She is in a better place now Yellow..." He sighed and looked at her. She whimpered and nodded, not leaving her embrace with Plum.
