Being an omega sucked for anyone. Some alphas were pretentious assholes who believed an omega was for breeding, nothing else. Some jobs refused to hire omegas because they didn't wanna issue heat leave—although they have to issue rut leave for alphas. And one of the worst things: some alphas and betas don't care for their human rights, if an omega is looking a little too delicious, they will get the omega. Consent or not.

Although being an omega sucked all around Castiel Novak liked to believe that being a male omega sucked especially. During heats hormones went wild. If an omega had an alpha and the alpha left the omega would start to drop from thinking their alpha abandoned them, which was not a good thing at all and could result in said omega's death—through suicide or sickness. But the one thing Castiel found to be the worst about being a male omega; was being a pregnant male omega.

His mate and he had tried getting pregnant too many times to count. They started trying when Castiel was 22 and Dean was 23, only succeeding two times, only to lose the two pups. They finally caught again three years later. The two mates were ecstatic, Dean had gone as far as contacting Cole Trenton someone he hadn't even been involved with since high school. Castiel was just as excited but his omega nature caused anxiety to rack all of his excitement to shambles. What if he were to lose the pup?

Even after five months, Dean still expressed his excitement. He pressed kisses into Castiel's belly as many times as a vowel was said. The alpha never complained when he was holding Castiel as retching vomits racked his body. Or when Castiel woke him up with a specific craving; like sea salt Carmel brownie brittle. Not even when Castiel got snappy or when he asked for back and feet rubs. He especially never complained when Castiel begged for his knot, but that may have been his alpha beaming at his mate's pregnant glow.

Castiel didn't mind being pregnant either. He hated it on the days were his belly hindered him from putting on shoes—these days you found him barefoot—, or when he would vomit smelling certain scents, and the worst of all when he got so frustrated with himself he bawled—these were usually times when Dean wasn't home. Castiel didn't mind being pregnant but he hated his hormones.

That was in Castiel's opinion the hardest part of being a male omega. Female omega's could handle their emotions so much better than males. Whenever a small inconvenience would happen Castiel would want to throw himself on the ground and kick and scream and bawl. Male Omegas didn't know how to handle emotions, counting backwards from ten never worked and deep breaths weren't even attempted.

Castiel found himself growling as he watched a male omega model a pair of omega underwear on the tv. He couldn't help but bitterly look down at his swollen belly. Castiel was well aware he wasn't going to get his exact body back once he popped the pup out, but that didn't mean he was fine with it. The thoughts kept him up at night; Dean will never love you because you're fat.

Sighing Castiel pushed away his carton of sea salt Carmel icecream. He couldn't help the cravings or the extra weight he put on, it was basically a written rule in being pregnant. Everybody put on weight except crazy fit people which Castiel knew wasn't him.

A loud ding popped through the living room signifying their bedsheets were done drying. Frowning Castiel debated just asking Dean to do it when he got home, he immediately shot down the idea when he thought of how tired Dean is when he gets home, he also thought of how bad of an omega he'd be.

Whimpering, Castiel pushed himself off the couch and padded heavily into the laundry room. The dryer beginning to ding again causing Castiel to whine and plug his ears from the awful noise. Biting back tears Castiel bent as far down as he could and began to pull out the warm blue blankets, letting them fall into the laundry basket below the dryer door.
