The Guardians -- North, Toothiana, Sandy, Bunnymund, Jack Frost, Elsa, Rapunzel, Flynn Rider, Anna, Kristoff, Hiccup, Astrid, and Merida -- stood outside Elsa's ice palace, ready for a night of relaxation after stopping another one of Pitch's attempted nightmare takeovers. This time, they had to defend Rome of all places and trying to blend in is easier said than done when you have magic. Elsa's palace has seen a bit of renovation since Arendelle had been thawed. Now, instead of only having staircases and a fountain, there were tables, chairs, snow trees, tall bookshelves filled with books transcending the ages, and even a magic pantry which was filled with various cuisines.
However, despite the state of the palace, the door wouldn't open. Elsa tugged and tried to push and pull, but to no avail.
"Huh, Elsa. This must be strange, you being locked outside your own door."
"Anna, it's still my palace and I hold the power to refuse entry to anyone."
Before Anna could reply, Man in Moon spoke to the Guardians through his spiritual winds.
"My fellow Guardians," he began, "seeing how much of a family you've become with one another reminds me of how each of you were when you were young and the relationships you had with your parents. I want you to see how you've mirrored them to the children of both your past and of today."
"My lord, are we going to see our parents again after all these years?" Hiccup asked.
"Yes, Hiccup. Through my powers and with the permission of Father Time along with the Galaxy Council, your parents have been able to defy the laws of time for awhile."
"Wait, you said 'our parents'. Does that mean only our parents will be there and not our siblings?" Merida asked.
"I'm afraid so, Merida. There are laws in this universe even immortals can't meddle with. Now, I must warn you, each of your parents have left the afterlife and only have a set amount of knowledge. They don't remember death and the afterlife, so it'll be like they're still in this dimension, in this realm. You will most likely need to define common words and explain the 21st Century to them."
"My lord, since all of us Guardians came from various countries, we spoke various languages growing up. Will our parents be able to communicate with all of us or will we each only be able to speak with our parents?"
"That is an excellent and vital question, North. Because all of you, as a whole, are fluent in English, French, and German, I have decided that English will be the primary language. Although, in addition to this extraordinary event, your parents have all been granted Toothiana's impressive ability of fluency in every official language ever known."
"Whoa," they all said/signed.
"Enough with all this talk, go be with your parents now."
"Where are they?" Elsa asked.
"Inside your ice palace."
"But...I can't open the door."
"Now, I've unlocked it."
After a slight nudge, the door opened and inside stood 26 people, some familiar, some not.
"Mom, Dad!" Anna shrieked, nearly knocking over two tables as she ran towards them.
"Anna," acknowledged the former Queen of Arendelle.
Most walked to and greeted their parents, but Kristoff, Flynn, and Astrid stayed near the door. Elsa stood there too, but not for the same reasons.
"What are you doing, Elsa?" Kristoff asked. "You know what your parents look like."
"Well, one," she replied. "My mom died when I was one."
"What are you talking about?"
Oh no, she thought. I haven't told them.
"Elsa?"
"Umm...I'll talk about that later. I'll help you find your parents, Kristoff. You too, Astrid and Flynn. I'll help you three find your parents."
She walked through the crowd until she found two people wearing Viking-like attire, as Hiccup liked to put it. The man was buff and was about three or four times the size of Elsa in terms of width. Standing beside him was a woman dressed in a gray tunic and black skirt with thick black leggings underneath.
