Sabrina fiddled with her fingers as she sat at the kitchen table with her mother, Melissa sitting across from her. It was close to nine as the two sat in silence, waiting for Scott to come home.
"Mom-"
"Honey, we'll talk about it when Scott gets home, okay?"
Sabrina closed her mouth and nodded before going back to playing with her fingers in silence.
The sound of the front door opening, grabbed Melissa and Sabrina's attention as they looked over and stood up.
Scott walked in quietly, thinking that his mom and twin sister would be sleeping now, but froze when he saw that the both of them were standing in the kitchen. It looked like they were waiting for him.
"Sorry, I'm late," he said as he was closing the door behind him. "I was closing up the Animal clinic. I got more hours to earn a little extra.."
Scott's eyes trailed over at the table where he saw the open gym bag filled with money, sitting on top of it. He looked over at Sabrina who had a guilty expression on her face.
"Sorry, Scott..." she began. "Mom found it in your room and questioned me about it." Scott nodded his head in understanding.
"How long have you had it?" Melissa asked her son.
"Too long," he manged to breathe out. "You know you have to give it back." "I was going to," he tried to explain. "Do I want to know why you haven't?" she asked sheepishly.
Scott's eyes went back to the money that was still sitting on the table. "Because of you," he audibly answered.
His mom was thrown. "Me?" She then looked around at the counter where she kept the bills and she understood. "You mean because we've been struggling a little?"
"Mom, we're struggling a lot," Sabrina stepped in. "She's right, mom," Scott said. Melissa sighed and shook her head. "Scott, Sabrina, you could save people's lives, but you can't save them from life. Life is full of struggles."
"But it doesn't have to be," he suggested as he moved for the bag. "Honey," Melissa sighed.
But he cut her off as he showed her one of the money rolls. "Do you know what one of these could do? This gets us a new roof." He reached for another. "And this pays for Stiles' MRI." And another. "This, this pays for Eichen House." Then he went for another. "And this, means that you don't have to work the double shift at the hospital and come home totally exhausted."
She nodded before she reached for one herself, "And this one?"
Scott took it from her and saw that it was covered in spots of blood. Blood that no doubt came from either Garrett and Violet's hands when they counted the money.
Sabrina's eyes softened up at the sight of the blood, "Mom, we just-"
Their mom cut them off this time, gently, "Scott, Sabrina, you two want so much to try and let things be normal around here. Well, worrying about bills, rent and falling behind payments, that it what normal people have to normally deal with in their normal lives. Normal is not perfect sweeties, it's normal. This," she said pointing to the piles of money. "This is nowhere near normal."
The twins stared at the money piles for a few seconds and nodded. They then felt their mother wrap her arms around them and pulled herself to them for a hug. The twins moved their arms around her to squeeze their mother back.

Stiles was sleeping in his room, out like a log. He was so out that he didn't even hear the person stepping into his room.
