Chapter 3: Fireflies

The full moon was shining high above the woods as Sabrina ran, trying to catch Boyd and Cora's scent. She then stopped running when she heard screams. Sabrina ran toward the screams to find Boyd throwing a shed away. Sabrina could see two children, holding each other in fear. 

The little girl dropped her jar of fireflies and they started to buzz off at Boyd. He started to flail his arms and tried to get them away. Sabrina took her chance and immediately ran over to the little girl and boy. She scooped the two children into her arms and took off. Boyd then looked back to see the two of them were gone.

Sabrina placed the two scared children down and they immediately clung onto her arms. 

"Scott!" she cried out.

In just a few moments, Scott had appeared, looking confused at her. "Who are they?" he pointed to the children. "Boyd tried to hurt them. Call Derek," 

Over in another part of the woods, Derek got a call from Sabrina. "You lost them?"

"Yeah, I kind of had to," said Sabrina.

"Wasn't exactly the plan."

"I know, which is why Scott and I think we should stick together. Trust us, he's too strong, too fast and way too angry for one person to hold. We've got to do this together."

"Look, I'm at the trails by the entrance to the preserve. Can you two meet me here?"

"Yeah," said Sabrina. "Just got to drop something off first," she said before she looked at the two kids she helped pull out of Boyd's reach.

Scott and Sabrina found Derek and together they moved through the woods to try and follow after Boyd and Cora's scent. They came upon footprints and they were fresh.

"Is it them?" Scott asked.

"We're not the only ones that decided to stick together." "Is that going to make it easier or harder to catch them?" Scott asked. Derek just looked out. "I don't know." Sabrina started shaking her head. "Derek. I saw Boyd try to rip two little kids apart."  "Are they going to do that to anyone they find?" asked Scott.

Derek looked grimly at them before he went off. "Everyone and anyone."

Scott and Sabrina went on the move as well until they heard something off in the distance and then broke into a really hard run.

Cora growled at girl in the woods until something jumped in not too far away. It was Isaac and he quickly charged at her. Cora grabbed him and threw him off to the side easily. She was going to charge at him but was stopped when Sabrina jumped in and kicked her back. Over at the side, Derek moved in and growled at her with his red eyes blazing and she roared back. She then ran and Derek, Sabrina and Isaac took off after her. Scott noticed the girl and went over to her.

"Are you okay?" he asked her. The girl just backed up a bit from him. "Are you alright?" he asked a little louder.

The girl backed away again but she still nodded her head. "Uh huh."

"You need to get out of here, okay?" he told her. "Get out of the woods. Get out of here as fast as you can." He then ran to try and catch up to the others.

Scott, Sabrina, Derek and Isaac lost sight of Cora. They were wondering where to try looking next when Sabrina's phone rang.

"It's Stiles," she told them before she picked up. "Hey, Stiles?" she said into it.
