Chase stood outside, listening to the siblings argue. He could tell that they were close but also that went they fell out, world war three began. He hoped they wouldn't stay mad at each other for too long, he knew how much her brother's meant to Skye.

"Chris," Chase head a voice behind him and turned to see Rocky, who had left the room in a strangely calm yet still angry state.

"Huh?"

"Chris. He's why Zuma's like this when it comes to you and Skye. I know it's not easy but don't take it personally." The older boy said.

"What did he do?" Chase asked. Rocky looked up at the night sky and sighed.

"It's not my story to tell but he hurt Skye really bad, Zuma too. It ruined their relationship for a week but after it was even stronger. Zuma was overprotective anyway. After the whole Chris thing, it's almost been smothering." Chase looked at the boy who looked like he wanted to continue.

"Go on, I can tell you still wanna say something." The brunette said, standing next to Rocky and leaning against the fence, the gravel crunching beneath their feet.

"Skye's like a best friend to me as well as her brothers. We all want to protect her but I want her to be herself and be happy. Chase I'm asking you to do something super important for me." Chase nodded along to Rocky's words. "Make her happy. I don't care what my boyfriend thinks, he makes me happy and vice versa but his sister needs to be happy too. I can already tell you'll be good for each other."

Chase smiled as he saw the concern on the older boy's face. "I'll do my best." He promised. Rocky smiled and the two stayed silent for a few seconds. "It might be best to not tell Zuma for a while. If this goes south I kinda still wanna live." Chase chuckled.

"Don't worry. It's between us." Rocky promised. "I'll see you around." The grey haired boy turned and walked back into the house. Chase heard a few words being mumbled before the sound of footsteps on the stairs and the closing of a door. The brunette sighed and began the walk back to his own home.

He opened the door and took off his boots, dusty from the day's trail ride. He skidded down the laminate hallway in his socks and stopped at the living room door. He opened it and groaned upon seeing Marshall making out with Everest. Again!

"Can y'all keep away from each other for just a few minutes?" He said sarcastically.

Everest pulled back from her boyfriend's lips and giggled. "You're just jealous that you ain't gettin' any rowdy romance." Marshall laughed, still holding his girlfriend's waist.

"Well seein' as I am single, ya'll can knock it off." Chase pulled the redhead off the other boy's lap and sat between them in a playfully stubborn way.

The two lovers over dramatically reached for each other but Chase kept batting their hands away. Eventually they gave up and Everest leaned back, howling with laughter at the way the three acted, the could be mature but there was always time for messing around.

"Seriously though. I need a hand." Chase sighed. Marshall looked at him quizzically.

"What with?" He raised an eyebrow.

"I need to take Skye out but I don't have any cash or know what to do. Any suggestions?"

"Leave it to me." Everest said, earning a slightly concerned look from Chase.

"Are you sure that's a great idea Ev? I mean, you're a country girl through and through but Skye's a city girl at heart." He asked.

"We're both girls, it's the same ol' stuff for us." Chase still didn't look convinced. "Trust me." Chase sighed.

"Alright. Just, don't do anything too out there."

"As if I would."
