It was a cold autumn's morning and a boy named Michael woke up walking downstairs for his breakfast. He told his parents good morning and ate his breakfast rushing to the bus. Michael had been a normal child all his life. He worked hard in school and was kind to everyone around him. He felt comfortable being himself around people. He walked around school doing his normal routine. Some kids made fun of him for the way he acted and dressed. But he didn't care he just ignored them. He did his usual routine and walked through the halls and walked into class. He sat in his seat watching the other students walk into the room. He sighed watching them all sit down. After class started he watched the teacher take roll call and waited and he felt something he hadn't felt before. He felt fear that his name would be called and he heard his name and said 'here' like usual but this time felt weird. He behaved as normal going through his day like usual.

Once he went home he kept everything he felt to himself. He went to his room and wrote in his diary about what happened.

Dear Diary,

Today was weird. I felt scared to hear my name called during class. I guess it's just anxiety, but why? This has never happened before so why now? Oh well I guess it's nothing. Maybe it's cause school started a couple weeks ago and I've been bullied mercilessly since it started.

Sincerely, Michael.

After writing he got up and joined his family for dinner. Everyone spoke about their day and he didn't tell them about the name thing. He knows they wouldn't understand. After dinner he went to his room and slept when he woke up he felt the same thing when attendance was called. He feared his name being called. He assumed it was cause he feared them figuring out about it. He did the same thing as yesterday and the day after that. The feeling about his name was still there. He started thinking about his name and himself. He started feeling anxiety towards his name and he decided to change it. Over the next couple months he was thinking about his name and himself. He figured out he wasn't straight and he was male either. But what was he? He couldn't figure it out so he went to the internet and searched up sexuality and gender. Several weeks later he figured out he was agender and abrosexual. He looked up possible names as well and found a name he absolutely loved. He decided his name was Jewel. He didn't wish to use he pronouns so he searched other pronouns and found the pronouns ve/vir/virs/virself and they/them/their/themself. Ve was happy and glad ve found out who ve was. Ve went downstairs and told virs parents. Ve came out and virs parents was glad ve told them but would only use they pronouns because they didn't know how to use ve pronouns. Ve showed them how to use virs pronouns and they were happy ve was teaching them about virself. Ve was happy they were trying and being accepting of vir. Ve was happy and explained to them how ve figured all this out and how ve felt over the past 7 months. Virs parents hugged vir and told vir that ve didn't have to worry about them not being accepting and they told vir that they would love vir no matter what. Ve cried tears of joy and hugged virs parents. They all were happy and everything went back to normal.

"So how did you figure all this out, Jewel?" Questioned virs mother.

"I had spent a few days feeling anxious towards my name and it made me uncomfortable so I looked up what this meant and I got loads of results pertaining to gender. I had spent the next 7 months looking up pronouns and names and I found my pronouns and name. I had finally loved myself and was happy with who I was. I'm thinking about coming out to my teachers tomorrow."

"Well dear just remember we love you and that people may not like you because of who you are."

"Oh, I'm well aware of that. I've been getting bullied ever since school started for being who I was even before I knew who I was."

Virs parents looked at vir with a look of sorrow and sadness. They hugged vir and reminded vir they love vir.

"Thank you, moms."

Virs brother and sister walked in and saw this asking what was happening. Ve told them and came out to them. They smiled hugging vir.

"It's about time, Jewel." Said Kyle virs sister, happily.
