It was a cold outside while a young girl had the heat on inside. The warmth surrounding her as she calmly sat against her bedroom wall. She sighed with content as she closed her eyes breathing in deep. She calmed herself and went into a meditative state. She did this often in order to ease her anxiety and calm herself after a rough day. It was currently 4:38 in the afternoon and she sat there envisioning a calm place. She sat there when she felt a soft breeze and heard an opening of the door. She sat there as her brother walked into the room. Seeing what was happening he wrote on a sticky note and placed it on her hand leaving the room quietly. The note said that dinner was ready and to be careful while she was in this state. She felt the note and gently rubbed her thumb over the note feeling the marks and after a few seconds being able to read what was said on the note.

In her vision she saw a brown bench surrounded by stone ground and a stone wall behind the bench. She went to go sit on the bench when it started having a grey pool under it. She stood back and stepped backwards as black tentacle shaped arms started coming out the ground surrounding the bench. She felt scared and tried to get out this state but she couldn't she had fallen asleep. She felt something grab her and she screamed trying to get it off her and she woke up feeling her brothers grasp on her. She looked at the time 5:49. She looked down at the note and read it. Afterwards she looked at her brother with fear in her eyes. He looked different to her and he looked scary. Is this really him? She thought to herself as he guided her downstairs to dinner. She was unable to shake the thought out of her head of what she saw and she still felt scared. He was right to be careful but everything still felt different and scary as she sat down. What was happening? She couldn't shake the feeling that this wasn't her home and she was still sleeping or in her meditative state. She pinched herself under the table and felt pain but that wasn't proof she was awake since her mind could remember this feeling and make her feel that when she did it. She was scared, she couldn't feel anything else. Then it happened: she looked at her family and their eyes filled with black and they looked at her with the most terrifying smile ever. She stood up and shook her head furiously trying to wake herself up. She screamed as loud as she could starting to cry softly. She went to her room and tried finding something that will help wake her up. She finds nothing and begins sobbing in her room, against the wall, fearing she won't be able to see her real family again and be able to wake up from this state.

A few minutes pass and she wipes her tears away and looks up and around her room. She notices she's back on her bed and looks at the clock seeing 5:20. She's confused knowing it was well past that time when she originally woke up. Her mother is at the door along with her brother and they're sitting in front of her worried. They both look at her and ask her if she's okay since they notice the tears on her face. She realizes she's actually awake this time and she hugs her mother and brother crying tears of joy.

"Oh I'm so happy to see you guys. The real ones."

Her brother looks at her with a look of sadness and empathy.

"It was a bad one, wasn't it?" She nods as she hugs him. They let go after a few seconds and they all get up going to get dinner. Turns out her mind was right in what was for dinner. She felt slight fear remembering what just happened but she shakes the thought out and remembers this is her real family. They sit down eating dinner as she explains what she saw and what happened.

"Woah that must've been scary, dear."

"It was, mom. I've never been so scared in my life. It tricked me into thinking I was awake but I wasn't and that was just terrifying. It made me realize that anything can happen in there and that you never truly know if you've left that world or not. I think I'm gonna take a break from it for a while to give my body some rest."

"That's sounds good, sis."

They resume eating and everything goes back to normal.
