Callies POV
I could smell the trap from a mile away. Being able to hear their heart beats and movement within and around the shop with my enhanced hearing gave them away. But I am a compulsive thief and I couldn't pass up on such a precious item. I could simply magic up this item, but there is something so satisfying in stealing a genuine treasure that a fake could never equal.

So, throwing caution to the wind, I proceeded to try and steal the statuettes. But because my cat form is better at stealth I changed into it and crept in through a vent on the side of the building. Thinking that they wouldn't know how to catch a cat considering they usually go after humans or humanoid types.

But I should have known. As I crept closer, just inches from touching my prize, I caught my first glimpse of movement from the hiding Avengers. They had brought a cat cage and were seconds from scooping me up in it. My klepto scrambled mind did the first thing it could think of to complete its mission. I launched onto the statuette. Covering it with my furry body to keep it from getting broken and claiming it as mine. Of course that's what they expected and I ended up in the cat carrier. Surrounded by Avengers.

" Well that was relatively easy. Why couldn't you all complete this mission the first time?" A smirking Falcon said to Spangles, Tin Can, and Wicked Witch. Steve rolled his eyes as Tony started to defend himself.

I sat watching them. Wanda was glaring at me. Probably thinking about the coffee shop incident that she still didn't have proof for.

"Let's just get her back to the Facility and into an interrogation room as soon as possible." Commanded Spangles, already turning to leave. Me being me couldn't make it quite that easy. And though I wasn't going to escape just yet, because I was curious about what they had in mind, I still wanted to have some fun. So when the Captain tried to walked out the door with my cage in hand I made the door slam into 'America's Ass'. The phrase " I hope the door hits you where Mother Nature split you" came to mind, making me cackle in hysteria. Steve just glared down at me and looked back at the door in confusion. While the rest of his team laughed silently. He just walked out as if nothing happened.

So here I sit in the bleak interrogation room staring at the obvious and cliche two way mirror with my eyebrow raised. My hand is seemingly 'cuffed' to the table. The feline statuette sat in front of me just out of my reach. They had dumped out my cat carrier a couple of minutes ago and forced me to change back by threatening to break my prize. Of course I kept my ears, stripes, and eyes glowing so they couldn't trace me back to Hatter. Though even without them, they wouldn't be able to connect me with him. I made sure to cover my tracks to allow him his normal life.

Oh poor Hatter! He must be missing me so much and probably worried by now. I open the link between our minds, something I can also do alongside the 'make people insane' thing.

Hatter I'm gonna be late for tea.

Are you okay Chesh? You didn't come home last night and I may have been worried.

Awe I knew you loved me Tarrant.

No I don't. You know I am not straight Chesh remember.

Of course I remember that. I've been trying to set you up with people all year but nooooo you wanna fly solo for a while. I meant as a sibling, you buffoon .

I knew that... anyway you're getting me off topic.

Me! It was totally your fault.

ANYWAY....what's up?

Oh you know just chillin with the Avengers and a pirate.

Knew you couldn't stay outta trouble. Well good luck and don't drag me into it. I'm gonna lay low. Have fun but not too much fun without me. Hatter out!!

By the time I retreat from the recesses of my mind and back to the present the pirate man is sat in front of me. Just staring. So naturally I stare back and take the challenge of the staring contest. It's difficult with him only having one eye showing.

" Are you cheating?" I blurt out. "Cause I don't like cheaters."

He raises an eyebrow.
"What are you talking about?" The pirates replies gruffly.

" Are you cheating at our staring contest? Duh!" I reply as if it was plain as day what was happening. He is doing exceptionally well. Usually people can't keep eye contact with me long with my eyes glowing. But then again, he is used to odd.

" This is not a game, cat. While you were starring off in the distance earlier I had Scarlet Witch keep an eye on your brain activity..." I burst out laughing in middle of his sentence.

"You said 'keep an eye on' and you only have one eye. That was good! Please tell me another!" I get out between giggles. He didn't look amused.

"As I was saying, she monitored what she could of your brain and she informed me that it suddenly went dark. As if you left. Which is odd because how can you not be in your own mind." He said rhetorically, as if expecting me to tell him all my party tricks.

" Do you want tea?" I blurt out.

"Excuse me but if you hadn't noticed your a little stuck at the moment so I don't know how you expect to fulfill your ridiculous offer." He drones out. I swiftly phase through the handcuff and float criss-cross-applesauce in the air with a teacup and tea that I materialize from thin air. I can only materialize things that I have had for a long time and I always have cups of tea prepared for dire times such as these. Fury responds to my actions by calmly standing and glaring at me. He brings his hand to his ear and speaks to someone through his ear piece in a low whisper, "Bring in the special cuffs."

Two men come in from behind me and snap two round bracelets like cuffs on each wrists and I instantly feel drained and sick. I fall from the air. My disguise falling away and my eyes dulling. Not to my normally unnaturally bright blue ones but to a sickly grey. My tea disappears and I lay on the ground with a groan. I just feel icky.

" Those cuffs are going to remain on. They will block your powers. You are to be transferred to a cell for further questioning." Fury rattles off stiffly. Not phased by my sudden change in appearance or my state of health. "Agents take her to the glass holding cell. I will send people in to talk to her later. You are dismissed."

I am then dragged out of the room by my arms. I hung limply between the men. My brain awfully quiet and and my energy sapped.

This is not what I had in mind for fun.
