Cheshire's/Callie's POV
The first thing I hear is beeping. It was quite annoying. My head was pounding and that stupid noise is not helping! In fact my whole body is sore. When I open my eyes I am momentarily blinded by the bright, white overhead light. When my eyes finally do adjust I realize I'm in a grey color schemed, plain room on a thin mattresses bed and hooked to a beeping machine. I go to rub my eyes but am met by a clank noise and a tug on my wrists.

Of course. Now I remember. They tried to kill me. At least they seemed to have learned their lesson and took the stupid cuff off me!!!

My eyes glow a bright blue in anger just thinking about it. It takes so much energy to do just that simple action with my powers. I feel drained, weak, and sluggish.

After several minutes I was bored. Actually it was like two minutes but that's too long for someone like me to do nothing. So naturally. Me being me. I began humming a song I had heard in the club one night. I think the name was Sympathy for the Devil. It had a good beat and made me giggle.

By this point I was lost in the song. Rocking my head side to side with my eyes closed.

Pleased to meet you,
Hope you guess my name,
But what's puzzling you,
Is the
Nature of my game!

I didn't really care who could be watching, because it was making me feel better. The carefree, craziness of the song was lighting that spark of insanity in my soul that fuels my very being. Despite being drained I couldn't resist. Because when cats get bored, we get destructive.

Meanwhile in the security room (3rd person POV)
"Is she singing The Rolling Stones?" Tony asked in utter disbelief. Then suddenly he smiled, " I like this chicks taste in music."

" See she is fine Captain. Now we can return the cuffs to her wrists and she can be returned to her cell." Fury said firmly and stoically. As he walks toward where the cuffs were placed after Steve removed them from her wrists and ordered her to be placed in a recovery room.

" That is not at all what we learned from this experience. We learned that those cuffs brought  her within an inch of her life." Steve replied astonished. Everyone in the room was. All the Avengers, new and old, witnessed how visibly draining those cuffs were and then when the heart monitor was hooked up to her cold, pale, unconscious self they learned that her heart was so slow that she was almost dead.

" You have witnessed first hand what she can do Captain. Now tell me, how are we supposed to contain that without those cuffs. She would teleport right out of the cell. Hell we don't even know how far she could teleport. For all we know she could teleport right out of here and back to wherever she was hiding."

" Then we approach this logically. We ask her to make a deal with us. She seems to have her own code which includes never breaking a promise. We take her back to the tower and keep her monitored at all times," Tony reasons.

"We can have someone with her at all times," says Steve. " She can even share a floor with one of us. Plus Jarvis will let us know of any energy spikes that resemble her energy before she teleports."

" Then it's decided. She is your responsibility, but if I get wind of any disturbances or that she escaped it's on your heads." Fury said grimly. Fury left the room swiftly with a dramatic flutter of his black trench coat. The Avengers exchanged glances then shrugged.

" I guess I should go discuss these terms with the cat." Steve said before leaving the room with one last glance. The Avengers were in for a very strange new roommate.

" I better have Jarvis prepare her a room. The question is, who wants to share a floor with her?" Asked Tony, already rapidly typing on his phone. When he noticed that no one was volunteering to room with Callie he shrugged, " We'll make Cap do it."

Back in the recovery room

Callie was still humming her song when the door opened. She of course chose ignore it. Her visitor waited for her acknowledgment but soon realizing he wouldn't get one decided to gain her attention.

" We've decided what to do with you." Remarked Steve.

"What? You're not gonna return me back to the cell with that life draining cuff until I cease to exist. Hmmmmmm.... how thoughtful of you." Replied Cheshire with her eyes still closed and head still rocking. The only sign that she was paying attention at all being the reply she gave.

"No. You are to live with us in the Avengers tower. We will be having you monitored twenty-four seven and you will not be allowed to leave. I..."

"Hmph... let me guess... or else I'll be returned to the previous conditions." Callie replied with snark. Her eyes finally opening to train with startling intensity on Steve. This was strange considering how light and relaxed she always was. There must truly be some remaining effects from the cuffs.

"Yes. And just to make you aware of how delicate the situation is, not only will there be repercussions on you if you choose to act up but the rest of us as well." Steve said with equal intensity.

"Oooohhhh... so I'm supposed to be greatful that you aren't gonna kill me and have some modicum of human decency. That this is what's good for me. Ha ha ha. You want me to thank you?" Callie replies a flash of insanity in her eyes, "cause let me tell you captain sparkler I have been a prisoner before and I refuse to show those who imprison me gratitude. Never. Again."

Steve was stunned. He didn't know how to respond. Afterward Callie seemed to realize she may have shared to much and rolled painfully onto her side. Closing her eyes, she returned to humming.

" We leave soon. Be ready." With that, Steve left the room. What had she meant she was a prisoner before. He'd seen the brief flash in her eyes. So similar to the look his best friend once had when discussing Hydra. The look of someone broken.
