"Hazel!."
My mom yelled. I sighed and paused from working on an economics test that I was currently taking.
Hazel: Yes Mom?
Mom: I'm home!
Like if I didn't already know that.
Hazel: Yeah I know and you're drunk once AGAIN.
The sound of her annoying heels kept ringing in my ear as she approached the table, which by the way I was working in the dining room with my computer and notes on the table.
Mom: What are you doing? Still taking that test from earlier?
She reeks of alcohol.
Hazel: Yes. I am.
Mom: You should of went to the bar with me instead of being on that computer all day.
Hazel: To get drunk and bring strangers home like you? no thanks.
Mom: It's better than just studying and being bored all day
Hazel: Mother!? I'm on my senior year of high school. This is the second semester, I have to do Good or else-
I stopped after hearing her giggling. I turned around but didn't see her there. Seems like she's in the living room and brought another stranger in again.
So much for trying to explain her about school. Thank god I'm home schooled, wouldn't be happy if I was in an actual public school where I'd have to see my mom starting drama or embarrassing me.
I got up from the table, closed my laptop, notebook and put them inside my bag.
We were a happy family when Dad was here. How did she change this much? I can't even recognize my own mother anymore. She's a whole different person.
Can't wait until I'm done with school so I can get out of here.
Mom: Hahaha, you are so cute! Look at those dimples, they make you even more attractive
Tsk. There she goes again, flirting with a stranger inside our home. She's always bringing old guys from the bar who are just as drunk as her, it's nothing new now but it's annoying and scary.
I hung my bag over my shoulder and made my way out the dining room to the living room. I fast walked across the living room and tried to reach for the stairs before she stopped me like always.
I squinted my eyes and held my breath in but she called my name before I even got to the stairs.
Mom: Oh haha, don't leave, my daughter will love you! Wait until you meet her. Hazel, come here!
Ew. No. I don't want to meet some old ass man again.
Hazel: I have to finish my test.
Mom: You can finish it after you meet this pretty boy
Hazel: Ha boy? Uh mom, you always bring men older than you and call them pretty. They can be my grandpas for all I know.
Mom: Just come here, this one is really a pretty boy
Hazel: Sorry not interested. Have fun, I have stuff to do.
Without turning back I moved on to heading upstairs but immediately stopped after hearing a glass shatter.
I quickly ran towards her, not even looking at the person next to her who was trying to pick up the glass from the floor. I put my bag down on the couch and squatted down in front of my mom.
