Chapter 18

It was finally graduation day. The past three months were hell as work and assignments piled up. Wouldn't had done it without Namjoon though, he was a big help. That wasn't the only thing bothering me these past weeks but the fact I kept getting teased by him just to end up not fucking.

Ugh, how annoying it was.

Today I'm turning nineteen and also graduating which is nice. Two big things all at once. I walked into the stadium were my graduation was held and seen Namjoon's parents and baby sister sitting at the top. They waved at me and I waved back at them with a smile.

Namjoon: You should get going before it starts.

Hazel: Right! I'm going.

Namjoon: I'm so proud of you!

He sent me a kiss as I walked off and smiled at his handsome self. I was full of emotions. One for not having my mother here but knowing she didn't care about me at all. Two, being so grateful with Namjoon for helping me with school and applying at different colleges. And lastly, finally crossing the stage to get my diploma that I worked so hard for.

I did it.

Namjoon's POV

We cheered and applauded everyone who graduated, it was a memorable experience. Not gonna lie, I got overly excited when I heard Hazel get called that my eyes got teary.

I really am proud of her. For finishing school despite going through a tough time dealing without her mother's presence.

I held a bouquet of flowers together with a gift in my hand and right then she saw me out in the crowd full of people. She smiled and walked towards me in awe at seeing everything.

Namjoon: Congratulations on graduating baby!

Hazel: Aw, you're gonna make me cry! Thank you, they're beautiful.

She held onto the bouquet and hugged me tightly which didn't last long enough as my parents also approached us to congratulate her.

Hazel's POV

Mrs. Kim: This is for you love. We didn't know what to get you so it's something simple but we hope you like it!

Mr. Kim: It's simple but it was my idea. My daughter in law, I know you'll love it!

I opened the small box and my lips parted at the beautiful gold necklace with my name engraved in it.

Hazel: Ah, no, it's beautiful!! You shouldn't have. Thank you so much, I love it!

Their faces lit up after seeing my reaction and Mina walked up to give me a gift too. She looked adorable like always with her two pony tails at the top of her head, wearing a cute floral dress with sparkling shoes.

Mina: This drawing is for you, congratulations on graduating Hazel Unnie!

I took the paper from her hand and couldn't help but giggle at it. She had drawn me in a wedding dress with Namjoon wearing a Tux next to me, their parents and her behind us with a proud look on their faces. I bent down a bit and hugged her tightly.

Hazel: Ooh I'm hanging this on my wall! It's so pretty, Thank you babygirl.

Mina: You're welcome! Oppa, ma, pa, can we go celebrate Hazel Unnie's birthday too now?

Namjoon: Yes, we can. Mom, Dad, I'll meet you at the restaurant?

They nodded and excused themselves first as their car was parked at the other side from us. Namjoon looked at me and gave me a big kiss to congratulate me once again. I thanked him and we walked back to the car hand in hand.
