Max's P O V

The police shuffled into my house and I became very nervous about them finding out where we have been an what we've gotten from those places. This entire thing is extremely new to me, and the fact that we posses a weird type of power is mind boggling and scary. So I tried my best to divert the police away from my house. " Are you sure it was a high energy rating? Maybe one of your devices glitches or-". But the man who seemed to be the leader of the squad cut me off. "These machines have been tested countless times and they don't lie. Now back up while we examine this further." He then pushed me aside as the squad went into my kitchen to further investigate. Sky, Shelby, and Ross had already gotten up by now and we went into a little corner to talk where the police couldn't hear us. "What are we gonna do?! Sooner or later they'll find out where the unusual energy is coming from! We've got to run to where Cory is." Shelby whispered. " If we run now it'll look more suspicious! We've got to think of another way to get ou-". Sky was then interrupted by one of the police with a spectrometer in his hand. It seemed to be what they used to measure energy, and while he was poking around with it he accidentally pointed it at us which made a very strange and loud beep. The leader obviously heard this and came over to inspect what caused the noise, but before he did Ross started booking it out of the house. Not knowing what to do in the moment,we all ran with him into his car and he immediately turned it on. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!". I yelled. "Getting us out of here now hold on!". Ross backed out of the driveway quickly and started driving as fast as he could down our street. Two police cars came flying after us flashing their sirens on, and Ross pressed on the gas pedal and flung us down the street far away, but not far enough for the cops to loose us. "What are we gonna do?! I thought we agreed that my idea would make things worse!". Shelby screamed. " We've got to get away from here or else, or else- I-I don't know! We've just gotta run!". Ross shouted back. "Where Ross?! Where will we go?! We have to give this up!".  Sky yelled. "Well-". Ross started talking, but there was a sudden extremely loud crash that interrupted him. I could hear nearby police sirens, and multiple shouts of people who were talking. There was a piercing noise in the back of my head, and I couldn't seem to process what had just happened. I didn't want to open my eyes to see what had happened either, so I sat still with my arms around my head leaning on my legs, terrified until someone tapped my shoulder.
