She awoke to the sound of furious winds pounding in her windows. She was almost positive she had gone to sleep to peace and quiet. She rushed out of her bedroom, towards the door and into the hall. The wind seemed to mix with rain as she felt rushed air and raindrops coming through her ceiling. She didn't understand. What could have gone wrong? She thought, bolting down the stairs to the landing and ran through the rest of the house. Searching, she was searching. She couldn't find it. She panicked with every droplet going through her hair. One of the windows in her kitchen, just a few feet away, could not take the pressure any longer. With one more gust of wind, the window cracked and sprayed glass shards in every direction. Her fear grew stronger and stronger by the second. Then, as if a miracle, she found her cellphone. She searched through her contacts and found Steve. She hit the Call button and waited for him to pick up. Ring. She tried to calm herself down. Ring. "COME ON, STEVE!" She screamed. Riiiiiinnnngg. She screamed for help. That when the last gust of wind hit and all sound stopped. She wished she could breathe.
