Breakup During the Purge

"So, you want to break up?" Ashley shouted at me. I, for one, was trying to keep my composure. Ashley was failing miserably. One point for me I guess.

"Not here, babe. Maybe later." I tried to suggest, attempting to reconcile what was left of my little brother's birthday party. No family member would assist me though. They seemed to be gleeful over this whole affair. That was so unfair.

"Maybe later? Maybe? No, babe, I want to discuss this. Right. Now." She spoke angrily, looking as if I was the only obstacle in her way of becoming a serial killer.

In the midst of this glorious moment, a series of gunshots were heard from my neighbor's backyard. I ran across the living room to look through the window. I reached it and looked the best I could at that sad, little backyard. As I looked further, that backyard's sight only got sadder, and a horror movie-ish. I stared at the mangled, gun shot bodies of my entire neighbor's family.

Except for one. The father. Mr. Jones. He was proudly standing over them and staring at the mass with glee. He cocked his shotgun one more time and fired the last bullet into his now deceased wife. In the distance, I heard a siren cross the neighborhood. The Purge had begun.
