I thanked our mom as she placed a cup of hot cocoa in front of me. Living in California for 3 years, and then coming back to the harsh winters of Michigan was definitely a change.
"When are you guys leaving?" She asked, sitting on the couch opposite of me.
"Christmas eve, we have surprise for Luke that can't wait." Sha smiled, causing me to smile at the mention of him.
"I wish you would've brought the boys! We miss them." She said, picking up our little sister Kitty and setting her on her lap.
Ashley, Sha and I are triplets. Born hours apart from each other, and born when our mom was only 17. Her now being 37, we have a younger sister named Kitty that's 5.
"Kitty come here!" Sha smiled, setting down her cocoa before opening her arms for the younger version of us to jump into them.
I chuckled as Kitty caused them to fall over and erupt into a fit of giggles on the floor. "You're a monster Kitty Skylar!" Ashley gasped, moving and tickling her sides. I watched the whole scene with a smile on my face, replacing Sha and Ashley with Luke and I in my head.
"What are you thinking about buggy?" My dad asked, sitting next to me and rubbing my back.
"That I can't wait for Luke and I to have a Kitty ourselves." I said, turning and facing him.
"Why don't you try then?" Mom asked, causing me to look at her.
"We have." I replied, taking a small drink of the cocoa.
"And?" Dad smiled.
"One day you'll get the answer to that." I said before standing up and picking up Kitty.
I laughed as she kissed all over my face, causing Ashley and Sha to chuckle at our younger sister.
