I threw up and coughed up multicoloured petal and blood. I was scared. This happens again, right after Keith rejects my feelings for him. In fact, now that I think about it, a few weeks ago (the time I decided I'd confess) is when it started to happen. What is this disease? Then another coughing and vomiting fit happened.
"Lance, c'mon, we're going to see Shiro. He says he might know what's going on, and he thinks he can help." Keith ran back over while shoving his phone in his back pocket, "Hahhh, I wish I could shove my hand in your back pocket–" I began to say, but Keith gave me the stink-eye. I guess now's not the time to be a flirtatious bitch.
"Let's get going. He's waiting. Never keep Shiro waiting." Keith almost growled. Does Keith have a crush on Shiro? Oh god... just the thought of that makes my stomach churn... gross. Wait, is Keith even gay? He might be bisexual...maybe even pansexual? I don't think I could ever see Keith as a straight male.

After about forty-five minutes of stumbling around town and lots of coughing later... we finally got back to the institute. "Okay, we're here. Let's go to Shiro's room." Keith whispered in my ear. I don't know why, but the voice he used made shivers crawl up and down my spine, "O-okay..." I mumbled back in response.
"Keith, Lance! Welcome back! Come here Lance... let me help you clean up. Keith, go back to your room." Shiro fast-walked his way over to me and Keith and picked me up, bridal style. "Will he be okay? Please tell me–" Keith began to speak but Shiro was already walking away. Then he spoke.
"I told you. I don't know until I know how long he's had it. I'll... I'll spare you the gorey details." he whispered. I looked over Shiro's shoulder to see Keith frowning. And... were those tears in his eyes? Is he that worried? I could feel my chest tighten, as if it was getting filled up. My throat closed up as well.
Then the flowers and blood started to pour out. The oddly coloured blood dripped from the corners of my eyes, and out of my nose, but not as much as it spilled from my mouth. "These flowers... they're Hyacinths. When I can get you laid down, and after some time of you resting, I'll tell you the meaning of all this mess. Agreed?" Shiro set me down on his bed.
All I could do was nod in agreement. I hate feeling like the weaker being. Though, I always feel like Shiro one-ups me on almost everything. Maybe he's even one-upped me on getting the key to Keith's heart. Ugh, I don't want to think about it. They're basically like brothers. I bet they'd think that like, liking each other would be incest.
Now, though... it's time to get some much needed rest.

Shiro woke me up a few hours after I had passed out cold on his bed. He said I didn't choke or throw up at all during that time, so I'm kind of relieved. The... it was time for him to explain what the hell was going on with me. And honestly, I don't know if I even want to know what's happening.
"Let's get somethings explained to you. I believe you have this disease called Hanahaki. You've been throwing up, coughing up, and choking on flower petals. Even if I look very closely, I can see small flowers blooming on your face. This disease is caused by one-sided love. You fall madly in love with someone, but they don't return the feelings of love back to you.
"The disease can be removed from your system and body, but you lose the feeling of love along with the lost petals. This disease can also end if such person learns to fall in love you, finally returning your feelings. Or... after round about 6 weeks, 7 if you're lucky, you'll die. It's harsh, but it's true.
"What I need to know is, how long have you been experiencing this? We're on a timed schedule." Shiro finally finished explaining, and then he shoots a question at me... I feel kind of overwhelmed, "Uhh, maybe a week, week and a half." I muttered in answer. I know for sure it was a week. I know that much.
