For the first 20 minutes the journey was silent. The atmosphere was tense, The silence was deafening. Words can cut like a knife but I don't think you would be able to cut through this tension even with sharp words. Cali made a low growl from deep within her body.

"We will stop soon" Rosa sighed turning to face Cali "I will answer all Hope's questions and you can do whatever you need to"

Cali grinned at her "Thanks"

"Just do what you need to do while I answer Hope's question" Rosa instructed

"What's going on?" I asked trying to interpret their words..

"I'll explain when we are at our destination, which is soon" The car pulled off the road onto a dirt track surrounded by wild hedges. We all settled into a silence once again. Cali sat grinning to herself about something, while Rosa put her arms behind her head and closed her eyes. Me? I sat in a confused haze. Nothing I saw, or heard, made sense. What did Cali need to do? Where are we? Is Bria here? I tried to remember the last time I saw her. She was arguing with Aaron... Aaron, the father of Bria's unborn child. Was he the one who took Bria? When did my life become such a mess?

"We're here" Cali shouted as the car slowed to a stop.

Rosa opened one eye "It would appear so"

"Can I go?" Cali asked practically bouncing up and down in her seat.

"Sure, Just..." But before Rosa could finish the sentence Cali was off and running around the side of a large house. Thee house looked like something out of a fairy tale. 3 storeys of grandeur. It's white walls basked in the sunlight. The inside was just as neat as the outside. "Welcome home" Rosa says taking in the room.

I turn to her "What do you mean?"

"Come" She leads me into a brightly lit lounge. "I'm sure you have lot's of questions so get comfy" She walked over and sat on a leather sofa. I followed and sat in the armchair opposite her.

"Who are you?" I ask her

She smirks at me "I am me"

"Who are you?" I asked again

"I am me"

"I'm fed up with your mind games"

She raised her eyebrow at me "Then ask proper questions"

I sigh "Fine... Why did Gina send me to see you? How do you know her?"

She seemed to think about it for a moment "Gina is an old friend of mine. While you have Bria, I had Gina. Why she sent you to me when Bria went missing? She knew of my powers so obviously I was the only person she could think of to help her."

I accepted that "When I told her of Bria's disappearance, she mentioned a 'he'.  Do you know who?"

"Yes..." Her playful mood seemed to disappear.

"Who?" I pushed

"You want the truth" She asked staring at me. I nodded. She reached over and took my hands "Hope, You believe your mother dead and yet here she sits here in front of you. The doctor, who you thought helped you is a spy. Cali, is different. The world you know is full of lies."

I cocked my head "Let me get this straight. You are my mum. The Doctor is a spy for who? and Cali is?" I couldn't stop the hint of disbelief in my voice

She sighed "Yes I am your mother. I was in a coven until I fell pregnant with someone from another coven. I was forced to leave. Your father wanted nothing to do with you so I visited an old friend of mine. When you were born, I was offered a place at the academy as a teacher. I took up the offer for reasons I can't explain to you, at this moment in time. I told Gina to tell you I was dead so you didn't come looking for me."

"What about my father? The doctor? Cali?"

"Your father, is the leader of a world famous coven. He is powerful, yet he craves more. He has Bria, he is using her as bait. Bait for what? I can't tell you. The doctor is his second in command. he poses as a doctor, in search for other witches that can join your father's coven and you will need to ask Cali" She explained.

I nodded "Thank you"

She looked at me with quizzical eyes "For what?"

"Being honest with me" I got up and left the room. I left her staring out of the window blankly.

"You can have the first room on the left, on the first floor" She called behind me. I followed her directions to a beautifully decorated room. A single bed was pushed against the light blue wall. A oak chest was against the other wall. Pictures of a baby hung on the walls. I could only assume that it was me. I colapsed on the soft bed. I needed time to think.

Rosa... or should I call her mum? She said my supposed father had kidnapped Bria as a bait? For what? Questions circulated in my mind. So much I don't know. I wanted to speak to Rosa again but I feared the emotion in her voice when she told me everything. I could only recognise it as... regret. There was only one person I could speak to about this, but she was off who-knows-where doing who-knows what.

A desperation filled the room like a thick fog. I wanted my Bria back. I wanted her and her un-born child safe and sound away from all this madness. I would do whatever I needed to do to keep them safe. I felt lost without her.

"Need to talk?" A voice said from the door

I nodded to Cali who walked across the room and perched on the edge of the bed. She smiled at me "So, what do you want to talk about?"

"Rosa... She said some things" I tell her.

Her smile faltered "What did she say?"

"Mainly? She told me about my past but she said that you were... different." I explained.

"I am" She replied quietly

"How?"

"I'm a monster, I try embrace it but...."

I shake her gently "Tell me"

"It's hard you know? Being half breed. Ray tells me to embrace it all the time, but I can't. Sometimes though the beast takes control... like in the car..." She trailed off

"You can tell me" I bring her in to a hug.

"It would be easier to show you..." She said pulling away and staring into my eyes.

"Show me then help me understand"

She moves to the middle of the room, and before my very eyes she transforms into a snow-white wolf with large violet eyes. "See I'm a monster" A voice in my head says

"You are not a monster" I tell the wolf firmly.

"Follow... let me show you" The voice commands. As soon as the words have left my brain the wolf jumped out the window...
