GOBLIN (JENLISA)

CHAPTER 7

Jennie hopes that Lisa finds a pretty girl that can see the real her to be her bride. She stands to leave. Lisa tries to convince her to stay and share the meal but Jennie did not agree.

Seulgi reports on Jennie's mean aunt and
cousins to Lisa.

"Jennie is not treated kindly in that house,so why do you want to know the information? "

(Two gold bars appear on Jennie's table at her aunt's house)

"this isn’t the way to punish money to obsessed people and you know I would like to be punished with gold bars too"

The aunt is tired of waiting for an update from the loan sharks. She rifles through Jennie's belongings. She’s stunned when she finds two gold bars. Her children run in the bedroom. They all touch the gold reverently. Immediately they become suspicious that one of them will try and steal it. They try and stay awake. In the morning, mother and son wake to find the daughter gone. They race to find her.

At home Lisa shows Jisoo and Seulgi the current incarnation of his 1000-year-old grudge. But Jisoo doesn’t believe Lisa. 

"Is it wonderful not remembering anything about your past"(Jisoo's memories are erased)

"I would know if I touch you"

Jisoo gets up to leave. Lisa watches the kpop groups perform on TV.

Jennie rides her bike and sees banners for the “Legend of the Goblin” exhibit. Then she sees the goblin toy store, goblin bus, etc. Goblin is everywhere, she can’t escape it.The next morning Jennie tears up thinking about moments with Lisa. Meanwhile Lisa is feeling melancholy too. They both think about each other and miss the other.

Rosé asks Jennie if she’s sleeping at the store. Jennie admits it.

"How did you know I'm sleeping here?"

"I saw your toothbrush and you wrote admitting that you are sleeping in the store. "

Rosé gives the weekly salary to Jennie. She asks Jennie to bath at a bathhouse while she’s sleeping there. Jennie thanks her. Rosé points out she need not be grateful for the money she’s owed for working.

While Jennie is distracted and inadvertently burns the squid she’s cooking for Rosé. When she blows it out, she realizes she’s summoning Lisa and tries to rescind the call. But Lisa has been waiting for her to call and appears before her. 

"I didn't mean to summon you"

"Aishhh you are disturbing me"

" So what is that I supposed to be able to see so I can marry you?"

"Let's eat first"

"Then lets go"

They eat and go for a fruit drink after. Jisoo shows up startling Jennie who hides behind Lisa. As they drink their drinks, Jennie worries that she’s going to die soon, that’s why Jisoo is there. Jisoo assures her that she’s on her side. Jisoo has a prior engagement and leaves.Jennie relaxes impressed that Jisoo just came for a drink

"So what are you to murmuring about"

"You will stay between the two Gods"

"You know? Jisoo is pretty"

Jennie asked.

" did I do something wrong in my past life so I was born as the Goblin’s Bride?"

"It doesn’t matter because you're not the Goblin’s Bride"

Lisa asks if she can see it or not.Jennie sidesteps once again. She leaves. 

Back to the Goblin's house

Seulgi muses that maybe one day she’ll become a grim reaper too. 

"grim reapers have a huge past sin that qualifies them to become grim reapers and how do you know that she is a grim reaper?"

"it’s too late to ask that question. You and Jisoo discussed that she was the grim reaper right in front of me"

But Jisoo gets in front of Seulgi and wants to know how she knows she’s a grim reaper. 

"You don’t do a good job hiding your abilities. "

Jisoo crosses a bridge and granny in red asks her if she wants a hair pin. 

"Aniyo"

"Maybe your girlfriend would like one"

"I don't have one"

The granny holds up a hair pin and tells Jisoo if buys this is will stay with her. She holds up a mirror and reflects the sun into Jisoo's eyes. Jisoo looks down and sees the jade ring among her wares. As Jisoo goes to pick it up.Rosé snatches it 

"How much is this?"(referring to a ring)

Jisoo stares at Rosé and a tear comes down her cheek. Rosé is taken aback. Jisoo is surprised by her tears. 

"Do you want this ring?"

"Yes"

"I will need your phone number in exchange for this ring"

"I don't have a cellphone"

Rosé doesn’t believe Jisoo and starts to put the ring on. 

"Then I will ask for your number.Just write your phone number down and place it on the table next to the ring"

"I'm Rosé"(then held out her hand)

Another tear runs down on Jisoo's face. They stare at each other. The lady in red asks who will be paying for the ring. 

Rosé can’t believe that Jisoo hasn’t contacted her yet. She asks Eun Tak if she’s less pretty than she used to be. Rosé looks at her empty hand and mourn giving up the pretty ring.

Jisoo stares at the paper with Rosé's phone number. She recalls her giving it with the flourish of kissing the paper. The ring sits on the table next to her.
