(Joseph's POV)
Asurah was extremely anxious the day the Celebration arrived. He kept fidgeting and getting lost in his thoughts, a faraway look in those white eyes of his. Hell, he couldn't even sleep last night. He kept tossing and turning, until he got frustrated and paced the room. I don't know why he was so anxious. Maybe he really was that embarrassed that his people were celebrating in his honor. I tried my best to comfort him, but he only gave me dry, unnamused looks.
So I just let him be.
He was already dressed in his Celebration outfit when I came into the room, his skin mostly on full display, since his clothes were extremely thin and held together with turquoise beads. His snow colored hair was up in a high ponytail showing off his faint widow's peak, a sparkling crown placed onto his head. He looked absolutely stunning, and my heart went into overdrive at the mere sight of him.
I, on the other hand, was slightly uncomfortable in the white high-collared jacket and white leather pants I had been given, jewels draping over my shoulders and trailing down the length of my leather pants. The only good thing about the stiff outfit, was the fact that it was extremely warm and made it more tolerable to be in the freezing outside weather. Though, I wouldn't tell Asurah that, since he seemed so excited to see me in it.
I did feel kind of bad for Delkele though, since his outfit looked like it was about to be shredded with how badly the fabric strained against his muscles. And he had looked so uncomfortable, his hair done in an intricate fishtail braid.
Smirking to myself at the recent memory, I watched as Asurah waved his arms around while he walked back and forth, seeming to be having a long conversation with himself in his head. I couldn't help it as my gaze dropped to his luscious backside, a smirk forming on my lips as I admired it. Asurah definitely put even the Instagram butt models to shame with that tush of his.
"Jo! I didn't even hear you come in."
My eyes shot from his pale skin, up to his white eyes that were lined with a thin line of blue eyeliner. It made his eyes stand out even more, and gave him a bold look that definitely suited him. "Ah, yeah. You ok? You were pacing again."
Asurah frowned and rubbed at his arms, shrugging as he looked to the side. "I'm just...nervous."
I smiled, leaning against the wall as I stared intently at him. "Why? It's your celebration."
The albino king sighed, rubbing at his temples. "It's...it's not just that." He walked over to me and leaned on the wall next to me, carefully nibbling at his bottom lip. "Today isn't just a day to celebrate my becoming king, or anything like that. It's also a day for desperate Glacics to try and woo me into taking them as my consort. It always happens. Last year alone, I had a thousand different offers."
I frowned, feeling jealous at the revelation. Damn. I knew he was beautiful, but to have a thousand people offer to be your consort? That put even the hottest men and women on Earth to shame. I had a feeling that I needed to keep my sights on Asurah, so he wouldn't be whisked away by another. Not that anyone else had a chance. We had already laid claim to one another. I had a sudden urge to just go out there and beat at my chest like a gorilla.
I cleared my throat, crossing my arms over my chest as I glanced at my lover. "Well, you could always tell them that you are already taken. I mean, if you're comfortable with it, and all."
Asurah looked at me, a few strands of hair trailing over his shoulder. He tilted his head thoughtfully, turning his body towards me. "I'm not sure it would sway them. I mean, some of them get downright inappropriate when I try rejecting them."
