"Yoongi"
Jimin and Yoongi both turned to the side of the voice. It was Seokjin speaking, wearing an unusually serious face. Which made Jimin even more nervous than he was. They were in Daegu, in a place that Jimin didn't bother to memorize because he really didn't want to remember this place at all. Never in his entire life would he want to remember this place. It was dark and gloomy and majorly oppressive. And Jimin hated it. He hated it more than he hated the fact that Yoongi was actually going through this stupid fucking ritual to be human.
His fingers were intertwined with Yoongi's and he didn't want to let go.
He didn't want to let go knowing that the older might never return.
He just couldn't.
"We should go" Seokjin muttered.
Jimin choked back a sob as he realized that their time together was coming to an end.
"A-already?" He whispered.
Seokjin nodded.
Yoongi grinned cheerily. "I'll be back before you know it" he leant down and kissed the younger's forehead. It was a playful one, a gesture so small, but it held so much pain.
Jimin almost mustered up a watery smile. He loved that Yoongi wanted him to cheer up even though at the moment all he wanted to do was whisk the older away.
"I love you" Jimin's eyes moistened as he uttered the words. He wanted to die when he realized that it maybe the last time he would say that.
No.
No.
Yoongi will make it. He will. He has to.
"I love you so much Park Jimin" there seem to be a sudden burst of emotion in the older. Yoongi paused for a moment and then his eyes softened as he smiled, a fragile curve in his lips that seemed to say that he wanted to break down and cry too. "Never forget that"
"I won't" Jimin fervently promised. He didn't want to believe this. Was nine months of happiness all they could have? Didn't they deserve more?
"And Jimin..." Yoongi hesitated. Then looked at the floor to hide the sudden tears that were gathering in his eyes. "I know we didn't...talk about this...and I hate to say this...but...If I-I don't...make it... I give you permission to...move...on"
Jimin blinked the words not processing. And then as he realized what tge older meant, he began to sob in earnest.
"W-what are you s-saying h-hyung?" He cried, weakly punching the older's chest before glaring at Yoongi. It had no effect of course since he was also sniffing and his cheeks were red. "Don't-don't say that! You're coming back home so that I-I can nag you for not eating and- and cuddle up on Sunday to watch-watch modern family! You-you have to come back okay?" Jimin held out his pinky in an almost tangible movement of desperation. "P-promise me"
Yoongi stood as if frozen, eyes darkening.
Jimin's eyes were blurred from his continuously shedding tears and he hated that. He didn't want to not see Yoongi when this was the last time they could probably see each other.
"Promise me!" He sobbed, heart aching painfully when the older made no move.
Yoongi replied by kissing Jimin, their lips fitting so perfectly it was like they were made, specially designed, for eachother. The kiss was sweet and passionate, every little puff of breath seeming to reassure each other. That this was not going to be the end. Jimin locked his arms around Yoongi's neck, never wanting to let go. Yoongi was his life. Yoongi was all Jimin ever needed. Yoongi was Jimin's happiness.
But life was never fair.
The two looked into eachother's eyes, looks conveying more than words ever could. Their foreheads touched ever so softly.
"I love you" Yoongi smiled, sadness etched in his face.
"I love you too, forever and ever and...ever" Jimin whispered back, voice broken.
"I love you, to the moon and back" cheekily the older replied. Jimin gave a broken laugh which turned into a sob halfway.
"I love you, for eternity" he mumbled after a second of silence.
"I love you more than I can ever say, more than you can understand" Yoongi was still grinning, as if trying to make out that this wasn't the end of the world. But to Jimin, it was.
"I will always love you, even when you're... not-not there"
"I will always be with you"
"I will n-never stop-stop loving you" Jimin was crying uncontrollably again.
"I will never leave you. Never"
"Come back home Min Yoongi"
"I will Park Jimin" Yoongi smiled
"Promise me"
"I promise you"
