"Looks like someone was sneaking around here." Ashton said.
I let myself look horrified, mainly because because that was exactly how Ashton expected me to feel.
"I think he needs to be punished for sneaking around where he isn't allowed, don't you think, Amy?" He said with a malicious smirk.
"How did he get here?" I said quietly.
"He most likely followed us, but you would know that, because as he said," He gestured towards Firn with his head, "'family is always connected in some way.'"
Firn looked shocked when Ashton said that, and it was probably not because he didn't know that fact. "Were you watching us after she went with you?"
"No, that quote from you was just a lucky guess." He said sarcastically.
"You were stalking them?!" I yelled.
"Of course. I didn't want them taking you away from me."
"That's the last straw." I said. I turned into something I had only turned into once before, a living shadow. I walked right through the cell bars, straight for Ashton. He looked shocked, so he threw Firn on the ground, readying himself for a battle that was very much so not in his favor. I made myself human again, I took my necklace off, and I threw it at him. He saw my attack, and he laughed, while he dodged it, letting the necklace fall to the ground and slide into another cell. Luckily, there was no one in it. I grabbed the aspen dagger, and I noticed for the first time, the blade wasn't actually wooden. It just had an aspen wood case for the blade, which was actually silver. I grabbed the hilt of the dagger, which fit perfectly in my hand, and I stood almost casually, but I was ready for any attack Ashton could throw at me. I could feel the same rage from when we were coming back to the warehouse from the restaurant coming from him.
We stood in silence, just staring at each other, for a few seconds. Then Ashton made the first move.
*~~~* Firn *~~~*
I watched Amy and Ashton stare at each other for a few seconds, about two yards apart from each other, while I just watched in horror at the commencing fight scene. Amy was standing casually, as if she didn't think Ashton would do anything. I doubted he would hurt her seriously, because he needed her trust, and in one piece. What surprised me was that he was the first to attack. He had a blade of his own, and it was a silver one, just like Amy's except I could sense that it wasn't aspen wood. It was alder wood, which if Amy could get ahold of it, it would make her immensely more powerful. I hoped she could.
Ashton lunged at Amy with his dagger in hand, and Amy easily blocked him with her blade. She pushed Ashton's dagger off of her own, making him stagger back and almost lose his balance. He easily regained his balance, and they started circling around each other.
Amy got close to me and said quietly, "I'll distract him, take the dagger and find a way to get it to his heart." She quickly gave me the dagger, so quickly I barely registered it, so Ashton probably didn't know she gave me it. She continued to circle around Ashton, and when Ashton got close to me, I knew exactly what to do.
He got close to me, but not close enough. I, as quietly as possible, walked over to Ashton's back, and I jumped on his back, trying to get the dagger to his heart. He flung me off of his back, and I landed on the floor ten feet away from him. The impact that I had on the floor probably broke something, maybe a rib or two, and maybe my ankle. I looked toward Amy, who was looking directly at me, and supposedly not paying attention to Ashton, who was running directly at her.
