It was finally Friday and tomorrow we leave for the Hampton's. I was excited as hell. Right now I am walking into school and smiling at the sight of her.

She was talking to a friend and putting her books and stuff in her locker. I walked over to her telling her friend to be quiet, giving me a confused look, and I poked her sides which made her jump.

"Rick! God the scared the shiz out of me!" She exclaimed turning to me and slapping me playfully. I let out and laugh and started to open my locker.

"Oh, Rick. This is my best friend, Lanie. And, Lanie this is my boyfriend, Rick." I turned my head towards her friend and smiled.

"Hey, nice to meet you." I said and turned back to my locker to put my stuff away. After I said that, I saw Lanie nudged Kate, wiggling her eyebrows, and take off in the corner of my eye.

"She seems nice." I said shutting my locker.

"Yeah, we've been friends since first grade." She said, smiling and walking with me towards our class.

"How come I've never meet her until now?" I asked as we sat in our desks.

"I don't know, she has been super busy lately and her name never crossed my mind." She said and lifted her gaze up to the board.

"Thank god that's over." I breathed under my breath as we made it to our locker.

"Right? I can't wait for this weekend." Kate said excitedly opening her locker. It was silent for a while, while we put our stuff in our lockers.

"So, I was wondering if you would want to come over, today." I said and she looked at me with a smile.

"Sure." She said turning back to her locker. I smiled and grabbed the last off my things while she did the same. "But, I have to go home first so could you pick me up?" She asked, taking my hand in hers.

"Oh, yeah of course. I could just follow you to your house and then you can do what you need to do inside then we can go to mine from there." I suggested.

"Ooh, yeah that sounds better." She said. By now we were outside and after she was done talking I leaned down and kiss her softly.

"Had to do that since I didn't get to this morning." I grinned at her and she rolled her eyes. Then we went in our cars and I followed Kate to her place.

"So, what do you wanna do?" I asked her as we stepped into my loft.

"Um, I don't know." She said following me into the kitchen and sitting down on one of the bar stools while I grabbed us the usual.

"Well, we could watch a movie or play a game." I suggested handing her her coke.

"Yeah, I guess. I don't really care what we do." She said and looked around. "Where's your mom?" She said.

"She's already at the Hampton's. Oh, did your dad say he was coming?" I asked.

"Um, no. He said he was just going to stay home." She said her brows knitting together.

"Oh, how come?" I asked carefully.

"Um, I don't really know. I think he is still getting over his drinking problems and stuff." She said shrugging.

"Oh, I see." I said. "Wanna play poker?" She looked up at me and smiled.

"Sure." She said and followed me into the living room.

"Oh, come on!" She said annoyed but smiled. I was winning, like always, and she was getting frustrated. It was funny and cute watching her concentrate.

"All in." I said and she gave me a glare. She was not good at this game.

"Fine." She said and shoved her chips in the middle then put her cards down, as I did the same.

"What the hell?" I said surprised. She won! She had- holy shit! I never get beat. I always win. I looked up at her and she was grinning.

"Hah, I win! Loser!" She exclaimed taking all the chips in the middle and pulling them towards her.

"But- how-?" I tried getting out but I was in so much shock. My mom never even beat me and she was the one who taught me!

"Sorry, babe, but you lost that round!" She said excitedly. She was so happy that she finally won after three rounds. And 'babe'? Where did that come from? I kinda like it.

I sat there in shock for a little longer while she kept bragging and at one point she got up and did a little dance, it was cute, but ugh! No need to rub it in!

She finally sat down and looked at me concerned but with a smile on her face.

"Hey, you alright?" She asked and I looked up at her.

"Yeah, it's just, no one has ever beat me before." I whined.

"Oh boo-hoo, grow up, Babe. It's just a game." She said laughing.

"Yeah, but, I was defeated... by a girl!" I said running a hand through my hair and she kept laughing.

"It's alright. You can get me back. Now, let's go watch a movie." She said getting up from the floor and sitting next to me on the couch. I, on the other hand, was still not okay with what had just happened.

"Only if you never speak of this again. And you keep calling me babe," I smirked, looking at her. She was laying down on the couch with her legs on my lap. She looked at me and smiled.

"Sounds good to me, babe." She teased and I couldn't help but smile.

"Oh, and if we can watch Star Wars." I grinned at her which got and eye roll from her.

"Fine." She said again and I quickly got up and put it in the DVD player and played it sitting back down on the couch with Kate's feet laying in my lap.
