The night of fireflies

The joyfulness I gazed upon within your eyes

A sparkle glimpsed in hazel-green

Throughout the yard we chased the fireflies

The glowing haze of where they've been

The summer heat weighed down excessively

The blazing moon was full

And all the bugs swarmed throughout the nights' sea

To find their breeding pools

You own the entirety of my swollen heart

You painted my memory

All the love in which you did impart

I will carry forever with me

Don't come to regret decisions that were made

Your feelings were all true

I hope the good memories never fade

That you carry them with you

I'll remember you in the light of the moon

And the scorching midday sun

When my heart and soul are again in tune

I will search for you, my only one
