Camila's POV

I sat at my desk the next morning. Last night was pretty much a blur after seeing Nic and his mother, Lauren, at the grocery store. I spent most of the night in my music room, drinking from the two bottles of Jack Daniels I had bought.

I thought of a lot. Ariana, the baby, my dad, Pete, Nic...and well most of my thoughts consisted of Lauren Jauregui. God damn it. Lauren Jauregui. I had all but two conversations with the mother and now she was all I could seem to think about.

It was insane. I had never met someone who made me question everything.

I rubbed my temples as the bell rang, signaling the start of my class. I took the sunglasses off of my eyes as my students began to pile into my classroom. I smiled slightly at all of them, nodding my head as I greeted them all.

"Morning, Miss C!" I turned my head to see Nic Jauregui standing before me with a container in his hand. He grinned at me and I smiled right back.

"Morning, Nic. How is your morning going?" I questioned, raising a single eyebrow.

"It's going pretty good. This is for you," he said as he held the container out to me, "It's red velvet. I didn't know what you liked and red velvet is my favorite."

"It's my favorite too," I smiled at him and his grin widened impossibly.

"Awesome! I hope you enjoy. My mom made it and she's an awesome baker."

"I definitely will. Why don't you to take a seat so I can start class?"

Nic nodded his head and raced off to his seat. I set the container down and opened it, taking a small piece of the cupcake. I moaned softly at the explosive taste that filled my mouth. I had never tasted something so good in my life.

It was like heaven in my mouth. I took another piece then shut the container and stood up from my desk. I smiled at my class as the last of them began to pile in.

"Alrighty, class. Time for my moron work then we can continue on with class," I said with a smile.

Today was definitely feeling like a good day.

**********
Today was a pretty awful day. The only good part of my day was this morning. It felt like after my first class of the day everything went to shit. Ariana called me to complain about something that didn't even matter at the time.

My step father called with yet another job offer and to insult my career choice. Ariana stopped by for a lunch date, that was supposed to be just us two, with fucking Pete, who spent the entire time talking shit or saying some sly out of his mouth shit. Which caused a fight between Ariana and I because I went off on him.

The only good thing that happened today was that cupcake from Nic and his mom, Lauren and the fact that my best friend texted me earlier and offered me a way to get out the house for a little while.
