[ The wives watched the new girls legs give out. She was wearing a muzzle, which wasn't a good sign; those were only used for the insane prisoners in the Citadel. How dare Immortan place one of those with them. The red headed girl, who went by the name Capable, elected to be the first to lean down and touch her again.
The unconscious woman groaned. She was still alive. They worked together to carry her unconscious body up to the small fall of water they had, then cleaned her up, and patiently wait for her to open her eyes again.]I found myself on higher ground once became conscious. Beside me was a circle engraved in the floor; water flowed through it graciously. The water, which was practically begging for me to take a sip, was being pumped from somewhere else in the palace. This place was nothing like I had ever seen before.
The redhead raised her hand as I stood up. "Be careful. You have a head wound." She warned.
I touched my face gingerly and sure enough a long cut stretched across my forehead. I probably earned that from my car crash. I felt a tingling sensation behind my neck, so I slowly and carefully moved my fingers behind my hair. I was met with raw boiled skin. A branding. That was going to hurt for a while. I turned my attention to the water next to me before plunging my hands in. I waved the water into my mouth savoring the cold liquid. It was heavily.
The other girls stopped what they were doing and watched me out of the corner of there eyes. I hated the feeling of everyone watching me, and that's all I had experienced since I got here. I grunted, my body aching with each step as I got to the lower level of the room. The sunset outside the room shined through the clearing in the ceiling. At least I knew how long I'd been here; a full day at least.
Now that my head was a bit clearer I peaked around at the various trinkets in the room, but I couldn't find it. My locket was lost with my only loves tucked inside. After my failed search I went over and pounded on the door.
"You won't get out."
One of the blondes who was clearly pregnant stepped forward a bit.
"Angharad!" The short haired girl gasped. "Don't."
I raised my eyebrow and turned away from the door. Did the one with short hair think I was gonna just attack the pregnant one mercilessly? I wouldn't put it past me, but my god it wouldn't be my first choice.
"Why?" The blonde asked, or Angrad. That was her name, right? Something along those lines.
"She's a raging feral!" The short haired women seethed. The one with short hair was also accompanied with plump lips and wider hips. Wider hips then the rest. She was built kinda like me, although I was taller. Much taller. But the blonde, the pregnant one, who was walking towards me was about my height. The short haired one was not as quick so trust me, but that meant she was intelligent. I wouldn't trust me either.
A girl with long brown hair hid behind the redhead who, despite the yelling, looked at me with curiosity. Then there was the other blonde. She was the definition of scrawny. She could have cared less about the situation. She sat awkwardly across a rotting couch, but watched me with the same curios eyes as the redhead. Five of them there were, all looking frightened when in reality I hadn't done anything frightening. Yet.
"She's one of us." Angrad snapped back.
I was starting to get the sense that she was the 'leader'. She looked to be the oldest and carried herself a bit differently than the rest. She seemed confident, or at least she was trying to make herself appear confident.
"The minute Immortan put her in here she became one of us." She added.
I didn't like that very much. Being apart of 'something' wasn't usually a thing I went out and searched for. I liked being alone. I liked being where it was quiet.
That was not here.
Angrad, or whatever her name was, stepped closer.
"Listen, you won't get out of here. But we will get out of here. Soon."
She stared at me with wide hopeful eyes. Was she looking for me to respond? I didn't know how to respond.
When I didn't say anything the short haired girl called, ""Come on Angharad."
Angharad was her name. "You idiot why would it be Angrad," I told myself.
She gave me a small smile before returning to what I assume was there usual routine. I sat in the corner of the room watching them and plotting my way out.
I ended up staying awake the whole night. It wasn't hard since I don't usually sleep at night; that was my favorite time to be awake and the most dangerous time to be asleep. All five girls were obviously uneasy with my constant staring, but there feelings weren't a concern of mine; however, the blonde did say something that intrigued me. She said they were going somewhere.
But where? And how?
"Where are you going?" I finally asked.
They were beginning to doze off prior to my question, but they turned their heads in surprise when I spoke.
Angharad answered softly. "We're going to the Green Place."
That was a place I hadn't heard about in a very long time.
