Today had been a hard day. People had been lost; good people in fact. I only hoped tomorrow would bring better things. All of us in the car, the exception being the man, had ceased to cry; the man had never actually shed a tear. I had managed to blink back the majority of the water in my eyes, but honestly it was hard. I hadn't meant to get attached to Angharad, but being in a enclosed place with such kind and mistreated people it was hard not to feel something for them. It was really hard.
After I put myself back together I helped the man create a steering wheel. I picked through the various items in the rig until I found the right ones, and we constructed a makeshift wheel. It was funny looking and a piece of cloth was flapping in the wind, but it was solid. I just hoped we could obtain another wheel eventually. Maybe I could steal one in the midst of a fight.
I glanced out the windshield and saw the engine steaming. The man had seen it too. We non verbally agreed to stop and let the engines cool.
I stretched my legs and resisted the urge to kiss the sand. I was free. Well, almost. We were still being chased, but a small part of me never believed I would feel the sand again, or see the sun again. But I have and that was a start.
The man hauled himself up onto the hood with a jug of water.
"Cheedo!"
I turned to the girls who were screaming at the running girl. Cheedo was sprinting barefoot towards a biker; two war boys coming to retrieve us.
"I'll be right back." I told the man.
I grabbed Furiosas gun- which was quite impressive I might add- from its resting place on the floor. I took three long strides to the back of the rig before taking aim. I was used to shooting a gun like this since I had one of my own, but this gun in very good quality compared to mine. I understood why it was Furiosas gun. Once I had the two bikers in my sight I just had to wait for their heads to line up.
Whoosh.
Bang!
"No!" Cheedo cried.
I set the mighty gun against the rig and walked out the group, who, was having a full blown screaming match.
"...and now she's dead!" Cheetos lipstick was smeared across her face and tears stained her cheeks.
"Cheedo!" I hollered.
The girls all snapped around frightened. Cheedo collapsed in a ball in the sand. I sighed, I really wasn't good at this comforting thing anymore. With my niece it was easy, it always just felt natural comforting her. Maybe, just maybe...this would be the same.
"You are not things. You are not objects that can be locked away! You are people that deserve to live your own life. Away from the man that has caused you nothing but pain. It's going to be hard. But you will make it."
Cheedo looked up at me and threw her arms around my neck. I looked around nervously before sighing into the hug.
"Mm. Let's go. Come on." I told them.
I helped Cheedo up and we all walked back to the rig, hands around each others shoulders.

[ Immortan Joe was coming. He was outraged by the death of his favorite breeder. He had The Organic Mechanic, the War boys doctor, if you could call him that, in the back of his car with Angharad's body. He was still trying to revive her. Joe saw an approaching car, coming back towards them. A cheerful war boy popped out and yelled towards him.
"We have her!"
Joes eyes widened.
"One of the wives?!" He asked eagerly. He moved to the outer edge of his car to get a good look.
"No!" He reached down and picked up a pale arm, attached to Joe's old Imperator.
Joe smiled.
"She's hurt though! Might bleed out!"
Joe turned to Organic and growled, "You keep her alive. You do whatever it takes."
They brought the barely conscious woman into the Gigahorse. Organic took a break on Angharad, who was still unresponsive, and turned his attention to Furiosa.
Joe's eldest son drove up beside his dad.
"Why are we keeping her alive! Dad! We should kill her!"
"I will kill her." Immortan promised. "But first, I want her to witness as I get my breeders back. I want her to watch her plan fail before her own eyes. Then I'm going to chain her up on the walls of the Citadel for display."
The rig had kept moving which means that the feral blood bag was still taking his girls away. He was gonna kill the man too and string his body up on the face of the Citadel. This is what happens to people who betray me! He planned the historic speech in his head.
"We keep moving."
Furiosa was restrained once her wound was fixed. She would be forced to watch whatever may occur from the back of the car. There was still a man out there who was going against him and Joe wouldn't rest until he found him and made him bleed.]
