He had a thick chain attached to his neck and the arm of a war boy. It looked like a tube filled with red fluid was intertwined with the chain. Like a blood bag. His eyes immediately went to Angharad, who was letting water flow out of a tube attached to the rig and sink into the sand. Both of our faces were stricken with uncomfort. I wanted to yell at Angharad. Stop wasting that damn water! My blood boiled until she turned it off. Angharad looked to Furiosa for directions. Furiosa nodded and the pregnant wife made her way over to the gun wielder. If he hurts her. I kill him with my bare hands. He snatched the hose from her and drowned himself in water as well. He had the gun trained on Angharad now, what a stupid idea it was to send her. He demanded The Dag to cut the chain. He did all of this without words. She walked over to him and Angharad. The Dag paused before cutting the chain and tilted her head at something in the distance. "Angharad. Is that just the wind? Or is that a furious fixation."
I have to say, The Dag was an odd character, but I like her nonetheless.
The man snapped the chain and The Dag back to reality. The bolt cutters clamped down on the tube, but didn't break. I glanced at Furiosa. Let me go. Let me go. I prayed. Furiosa nodded.
I took off full speed for the man and wrapped my arms around his waist. We both hit the ground with a thud and I swiftly grabbed the gun, aiming it under his chin. I pulled the trigger expecting his brains to fly into the sand. It would be a gruesome sight for the girls but they were going to have to get used to it. I pulled the trigger and nothing happened. The gun was broken. It was a ruse! I swung the gun downward to hit him in the face, but he caught my arm and grabbed my throat. My eyes widened as he pushed me to the ground and replaced himself on top.
A historic fight broke out between us and the man. Well, men, since the war boy woke up during the fight. Furiosa swung the bolt cutters at the man, but he was quick to dodge them. When he got the chance, the gun wielder, he started to run for the rig. What was he going for? I wondered.
I could see a couple of decorative skulls that were partially broken. There was a sliver of something, a handle I think. It was a gun.
I raced for him and pinned him against the rig. I turned the gun towards his face, but he ejected the clip. I fired a meaningless blank into his cheek.
"I got it!" That War boy shouted.
Got what?! I asked myself, still struggling with the man.
The man was pulled to the ground by the chain. Taking the opportunity I wrapped the chain around his throat. I tightened it as quick as I could and he started to choke, but before I could finish him off he smacked me in the gut with his elbow. We started to wrestle, both of us snarling through our muzzles. He rolled over once more and pinned me under him. I screamed and wriggled under his weight. The war boy tossed him the clip. No! I just got out! I cried in my head. Don't kill me, dammit! The man shot 3 bullets directly above my head and my heart seized. Furiosa stopped running towards me.
"Glory me blood bag. We got them all! And we snagged Furiosa alive! He's gonna shred her."
Furiosa gritted her teeth. But she didn't move. She was going to be furious. I was the one that got caught. With my face pushed against the sand I could feel the ground rumble and looked into the distance. What The Dag had seen earlier wasn't a furious fixation. Immortan Joe was coming and he was bringing everyone with him. With the gun still pointed at my head no one dared to do anything but breath. Except the war boy. He retrieved the bolt cutters at the man's request. He got off me and I could finally breathe.
The man and the war boy argued and it ended with the man landing one angry punch to the half lives stomach. The gun wielder walked to the rig. Angharad was already at the door.
