Flashback
"Mama!" Little Jungkook yelled. His feet were thumping across the floor letting the people inside the house know that someone else is there now. Jungkook's Blackish Brown hair bouncing up and down on top of his nose, covering his large doe eyes when it came back down. His mother was in the kitchen preparing dinner for the family.
"Yes, my child?" Jungkook's mother, Eun Tak, said smiling warmly as her son jumped into her arms, hugging her warmly.
"Guess what! I made a painting for you!" The little one said holding a piece of paper with what looks like fingerprints and hands that make was most likely supposed to make a turkey.
"Oh, My. It's so good, my child. We must hang it up in a famous museum!" Eun Tak said, exaggerating her words to make Jungkook feel proud of himself. Her warm smile was warming the child's insides even more.
"No, mama! It's only for you to see! No one else!" Jungkook said holding onto the painting, almost like he was protecting it.
"Alright, Sweetie. Go wash up. Dinner is going to ready soon, and your dad will be angry if you hold him from eating!" She said pushing the Child out. Jungkook turned around by the door frame and made a silly face before running away.
Running, Jungkook went up the stairs to his room. He was filled with happiness because of his mother's praise. She liked it! He thought. That's all that mattered. His mother is happy, and his father is proud. He hated disappointing them.
The house was lit all warm and cozy. It was the middle of autumn, and it was a bit chilly. Pumpkin spice, freshly baked bread, and the smell of fall were in the house. This indeed was Jungkook's favorite time of the year.
After he had got changed, he started to go down the stairs but stopped when he heard his mother and father's whispered words.
"Taegil, you need to understand we have a child! You can't just decide that without telling me! Did you not think about the consequences of your actions? You're putting our whole family in danger!"
"I'm doing this for my family. Without this, we wouldn't be able to stay here anyway! They gave me two options, and that's all I had! I did think about my family! Our family! The other option was way more dangerous!"
"Then tell me what the options were!" Jungkook's father went silent, most likely thinking about how to respond to his wife's demand. Jungkook was confused as to what they were talking about but resisted the urge to ask.
"You know I can't. It would put you guys in even more danger. I wish I could but I can't." Taegil said with a bit of regret in his voice.
"Do you want to know what is happening here? I'm left in the dark, Worried sick that you won't come home alive every time you leave. Heck, I'm even scared to talk to other parents at meetings! They talk about their husband's jobs and what they do but I can't! You know Jungkook doesn't even know what you do! So when Other kids bring their dad's in to talk about their jobs, he sits there and holds in the urge to cry because he doesn't even know what his dad does for a living. It's truly heartbreaking." Eun Tak said, sniffling at the end.
Jungkook had decided that he had heard enough and continued to walk down the stairs. His mother and father were startled to see him not knowing if he had overheard their conversation.
"Mama, is dinner ready? I'm starving." Jungkook said smiling, his parents visibly relaxing.
"Sure, my child let's eat."
A cold chill went down Jungkook's spine. He was currently laying down in his bed, Hugging his stuffy that was named Kookie. His Mama made it for him on his Fourth birthday.
The dark shadow in the corner of his room was starting to get bigger and bigger. His imagination was getting the best of him, He cried and covered his head with his blanket.
"Little one. Come out. I know you're under there." A voice said. Its sound was so thick and cold; he started to shiver. He was beyond scared. The shadows his mind had made have never tried to talk to him. It all felt so real too.
"Little one, Come on. I don't want to have to drag you out." The voice said once again. Jungkook poked his head out of the covers and looked around. But he couldn't find the shadow. The moonlight coming into the room lighted the room. The events that have happened created an eerie feel.
His dreams have gone on for months, starting simple than getting more and more gruesome. It's hard for him to even think about bed. He sleeps during his classes and then gets in trouble for it. He can't help it though. He is not getting any sleep.
"Little one." The voice came from right beside him. When he turned to look, his eyes went wide. The horror and fear surge through his body, making him numb. A figure was next to him, a few feet away. Fire surrounded it; his room was now fully lit. The shadow was black, but all you could see was his creeping smile.
"I can help you. I'll make the pain and fear go away. I'll help you through hard times. Let me help you." He said. I am urging Jungkook to agree.
"Your the one causing me pain! I've been suffering because of you! Why would I let you help me!" Jungkook yelled. Tears were streaking down his face.
"And I will be until you agree. The pain will get so excruciating that you'll beg for it to stop. You'll look like you've gone crazy, Then no one will help you." Jungkook stopped. Would they? They wouldn't be able to see the shadow. It's imagination.
"O-Okay.." Jungkook said. He knew he would regret this later, but he wants the dreams to go away.
The voice smiled and said, "My name is Jihyun." He said, disappearing.
