Social Worker

Jade's POV

          I wake up and rub my eyes, trying to remember what happened. I look down at my arms and whimper when I see all the bruises and bandages. "Shh baby" Emily whispers and rubs my back, kissing my forehead. I relax a little and look up her. She pecks me on the lips and I smile. She smiles back. "The social worker is supposed to be here soon princess" Emily says and nuzzles my cheek. "O-okay" I nod and bite my lip. "It's gonna be okay" Emily carefully pulls me closer to her. I cuddle into her and curl up in her arms. She holds me and kisses my head. I relax and smile a little.

***One Hour Later***

Emily's POV

          Jade is asleep when the social worker comes in. "Jade" I whisper and gently shake her shoulder. "Hmm?" She opens her eyes and looks up at me sleepily. "The social worker is here" I kiss her cheek. She nods and slowly starts to sit up, wincing. "You can stay laying down hun" The social worker says and smiles. "Okay" Jade smiles back at her and leans back into me. I wrap my arm around her and kiss her cheek.

Social Worker's POV

          I hold out my hand. "I'm Heather" I smile. Jade shakes my hand. "I'm Jade and this is my girlfriend, Emily" She smiles and kisses Emily's cheek. "Nice to meet you both"  I smile and sit down. "I just need to talk to you two for a few minutes and then I'll leave you alone" I get out a notebook and a pen.

****Twenty Minutes Later***

          I finish up with my questions and leave. I tell the police officer and he leaves to arrest Jade's step father.

Jade's POV

          I wrap my arms around Emily after the social worker leaves. She pulls me into her lap and holds me. "You okay baby?" She kisses my head. "W-where am I gonna live now?" I sniffle and look up at her. She wipes my tears away. "You can live with me" She smiles. "Thank you Emmy" I smile and hug her tight. "You're welcome baby" She smiles and hugs me back. "I love you" I softly kiss her. She kisses me back. "I love you too princess"
