Double Etheree: My Only
"My
Only."
Word whispered,
Husky and sweet,
Blinding me from truth.
His fingers traced the line
Of my jaw, cheeks stained crimson
Hidden in the dark of the night.
I reached out for his reassurance,
Seeking an assertion of our love from
A tender, warm embrace, lips touching lips,
Gaze holding gaze, fingers interlocked.
He evades my latest advance.
Rejection scolds me, I shrink back,
Heartbeat thrumming in my ears.
He draws near and whispers,
Hot breath on my lobes,
"You're my only
One mistake."
I am...
Dead.
