I closed my eyes and waited for his presence to disappear. Nothing changed. His power and arrogance rolled off of him in waves.Seeing no other option, I was about to put my less than useful track skills to use when I heard the voice of my savior.

"There you are Aer!" Kevin exclaimed jogging over.I know the relief was clear in my face when Kevin wiggled his way in between me and a very, VERY, peeved Jason.

"Teach sent me out to find her star student. She got worried that you might have tripped or passed or something, but it seems you were....errmm... just busy." He said scratching the back of his head. "Sorry I j...."

"What are you doing Kevin?"

"Making sure you don't destroy the innocence of good-looking children," Kevin quipped. This, of course, made my face warm up. I wonder how much he had seen before he came to help.

"You should know your place Kevin. We were fine until you showed up. Right Aer?" Jason said looking at me.

His eyes blazed with such sureness it was shocking. The douche thought that I actually liked his sexual harassment everyday.

My blood boiled and I almost shouted, "No you jerk! I was not fine and now I am very late to class. Thank you Kevin for coming to retrieve me." And with that I stomped past him.Kevin's eyes gleaming in amusement as he followed close behind as if I didn't just have a mini meltdown.

We barely made it 2 feet away when Jason growled, "Your going to pay for this".It wasn't really the words that did it, but the animalistic growl that came along with it that had me shaking all over again.

"Then I guess I'll deal with that later," Kevin replied coolly.

For effect, Kevin snaked his arm around my waist and pulled me to his side. The usual tenseness in my body left knowing that  Kevin was WAY safer than Jason. When we were a good distance down the hall, Kevin removed his arm and looked at me apologetically.

"Sorry Aer. I know how you feel about the touching thing, but I just thought...." he started. He looked at the floor and his dark hair fell in his eyes making him look like an adorable little kid.

This is what I love about him. He can be your tough and cocky when you need him to, but in truth he was more like a fluffy little puppy.

With that in mind, I did something I never thought I could do. I grabbed him into a hug. This weird warmth ran through me. I'm so used to the tenseness and fear that this felt so nice. I tightened the hug when he wrapped his arms around me.

"Thanks Kevin. It's not a big deal. Please don't feel bad." I begged.

At least I tried to say it. My face was buried in his chest, so it all sounded like one long mumble. He laughed at my attempt to speak.  "No problem Aer!" was all I got. And with that we parted and walked to Orgo.
