Mr.Morrison didn't say much about our lateness, but he accepted our late slips. We all moved to take our usually seats, but Mr.Morrison made a loud fake cough causing us all to turn back around.

"Would you like to help introduce me to your friend here, because I don't know who he is or what he is doing in my classroom" Mr. Morrison began.  "Oh, well that's Luke" Raja stated nonchalantly."Thank you for that very vague information Ms. Gamal, but why is he here." His dark brows furrowed as he pushed his glasses further up on his face.

Some of the class sniggered in the background. Ignorant little shits thought everything was hilarious.

In slight annoyance I replied,"He is a transfer student that is on the accelerated track".

"See now that's a better answer. Luke stay here, the rest of you stop crowding the front of my classroom. Shoo," Waving at us.

With a smile Mr. Morrison said, "Quiet class we have fresh meat and I would like to know a little bit about him".

Only Morrison would say something like that. He was a decent looking man in his 40's, but he was just odd. Not creepy like Beetle-Juice, but crazy like your friend after a drink or two. Not too crazy, but you know what I mean.

Luke turned to face the class and I heard some girls gasp and others started to whisper. I almost feel bad about the fact that he was going to be mobbed after class.

"Well," Luke started "I was born in Manchester, England, but I've lived in London my whole life," he paused as some 'people' (I use that term loosely. They're more like vicious groupies) squealed. "I moved here recently under...ermhh....certain circumstances?" he said more as a question. He rubbed the back of his neck and looked at Mr. Morrison indicating he was done.

"Thank you Mr..."

"Haveremore. Luke Haveremore."

"Well then, thank you Mr. Haveremore, I am going to need you to find a seat now. Anywhere is fine."

And just like that the lesson was resumed. As Mr. Morrison babbled about the importance of how the number of those in poverty affected the Chinese government, Luke made his way over to us. That's when I realized there was an empty seat directly behind me.On the outside, I probably looked cool with it. On the inside I was gushing happiness. Of all the seats in the room he sat behind me!

"You know you can sit anywhere right? You don't have to sit with us just because you know us? Those girls over there look like they need some attention..." Zahvii hinted suggestively. He had turned all the way around to talk to Luke.

Only Zahvii could ruin all of my fantasies in one statement. I growled profanities at him at him. But only in my head so no one would hear. I turned around to see if I could talk to Raja  because honestly, I think I know more about Global History than half of these teachers.

I spun full face around, but only saw Luke in a deep conversation with Zahvii. He glanced at me and his foresty eyes sparkled as he flashed a smirk. I did the only thing I could do; give a weak smile and continue on my search.

After looking very hard, I found Raja in her 'other seat' by Morrison desk. Other is in quotations because she only sits there when she feels like she is going to be distracted. Remembering the Luke's face sent shivers through my body. Good call Raja. The rest of the period dragged on and on and on. The clock wasn't moving and my patience was wearing I looked at my notes for English, Science, and even Health (eghhh). 3 minutes went by. I went to talk to Zahvii, but him and Luke were still talking. I tried listening and the only thing interesting was that Lynn Griffin was checking both of them out. I sighed and just began doodling all around my Global notes.

It's not that I think the class was important, but I had to have something to show. I was working a portrait of Zahvii.

Only he was part stick figure.

And standing on the Eiffel Tower.

And the Eiffel Tower was made of ovals.

Yeah......

I felt a tugging at my scalp, but I just kind of brushed it off. In the middle of me drawing Zahvii's smiley face, I felt a stronger pull on my hair. With confusion clear on my face, I turned around to see Luke twirling a lock of my already curly hair. He looked me straight in the eyes and smiled. Not a smirk or a half-smile. No, it was a legitimate smile. My heart felt like it just hiccuped. Something strange pulled a genuine smile out of me. I spun back around with that same smile plastered on my face. He continued to twirl my hair, which for the first time in a long time, any contact was comfortable. I smiled a little bit more at the thought.

Thank the lord that that double period was over. I had a full scale drawing of Zahvii on top of the Eiffel Tower, (At least just pretend it is for now) I even had time to add little French people with berets and baguettes walking in the floor staring at the Tower.

I told Zahvii and Luke I would catch up with them at Bio. They just nodded and continued their conversation. Boys.

Shaking my head, I walked downstairs to my locker to exchange my books. After slamming my locker shut I looked up at the clock in the hallway. Of course I wasn't to make it to class in 1 minute. So, I did what anyone would do; sigh and trudge to class anyway. On my way up the 2nd flight of stairs I heard someone call my name."Aeriodianne" a voice that sent chills up my spine whispered.
