Awkward encounters

Beth and I sat on the sofa, binge watching The 100. It was so easy to just sit with her without it being awkward. However it was getting late and I knew she would have to leave soon. Just as she was about to get up I spoke up.

"You can stay if you want, I mean it's past midnight anyway" I stated and saw Beth smile.

"Only if you don't mind" I smiled and Beth sat back down. "But I don't suppose I could borrow a hoodie and some shorts or something" Beth smiled. I rolled my eyes sarcastically.

"Yes madam are there any other services you require?" I laughed walking into my room grabbing her my black hoodie and football shorts and then chucking them at her.

"Hey I'll get you back for that!" Beth exclaimed laughing.

"Oh will you now" I grinned "you can get changed in the bathroom in my room" I returned to my seat on the sofa and resumed the tv.

"Hey are you watching it without me?" Beth pouted as she walked back into the room. She looked cute in my clothes.

"Not my fault you wanted a wardrobe change" I grinned and received playful slap on the arm but I quickly grabbed her hand and it ended up in us wrestling on the sofa. Beth tried to grab the controller to skip back but I wouldn't let her. She tried to pin me down on the sofa but failed miserably.

"Well this looks cosy" my dad laughed walking into the apartment with Sofia. Beth quickly got up and I followed suit.

"It's not what it looks like" I quickly stated resulting in both me and Beth bursting out with laughter.

"Whatever girls it's none of my business, we're going to bed it's been a long night" my dad replied.

"Where did you go?" I asked out of curiosity as they were back really late.

"It's a long story and one for a different day. Night girls don't be too loud" my dad smiled exhaustingly and they both made their way to their bedroom.

"Well that was weird" I stated. "And a tad awkward" I grinned.

"Yeh well now we definitely have to skip back because we've both missed some" Beth claimed grabbing the controller out of my hand. I just shook my head and grabbed a blanket placing it over my body. We both sat down and Beth was a little closer than before. I offered her some of the blanket and she gladly excepted it. I felt her move closer and she lent her head against my shoulder. It felt weird but not in a bad way. I could feel her unsteady breathing and she was obviously nervous about the small touch between us. I readjusted my arm and put it around her to let her know I was comfortable with this. I heard her breathe in quickly, obviously not expecting the touch but it soon steadied and it was weird how normal this felt. I looked down at her and she returned the gaze. I felt my lips forming a small smile.

"As tempting as it is to kiss you right now I don't want to ruin or rush this new found friendship" Beth whispered. She wanted to kiss me? My mind was on fire and I felt butterflies in the bottom of my stomach. It felt like when we first met all over again. But she was right. I was not in the right mindset for anything right now and there was still Sam to think about.

"Ok" I simply stated just above a whisper. Beth's gaze returned back to the tv but I felt her hand gently draw circles on my thigh. Now it was me with the unsteady breath. It had been a while since I had felt like this.

When I woke up our bodies were tangled up together on the sofa. I was a bit startled at first but when I saw the familiar face I felt a smile form however there was also a feeling of guilt. I gently brushed the hair out of Beth's face and quietly got up trying not to wake her. But I failed miserably. "Where you going?" I heard Beth croak in a raspy voice.
