Coincidence

Alice Smith who was newly divorced and her two daughters, Polly and Betty, went on vacation to San Francisco. They stayed in a pretty hotel near the beach. The beach was very clean and the water was a beautiful turquoise.

"Don't run so far away!" Alice shouted from behind the 7 and 8 year olds. The sand was hot so she tried to find a spot under a sunshade. She found one but right when she wanted to place her bag on the sun lounger a very handsome man placed his bag on there too.

"Oh sorry, stay here I'll find another place to stay at." He said with his sleeping son in his arms.

"No, don't be silly. We can share this sun lounger. It's difficult to find something here." She chuckled.

"Thank you," he motioned with his hands so she would tell him her name.

"Alice. Alice Smith."

"You have a beautiful name."

"Why, thank you." She said blushing a little. "What's your name?"

"FP. FP Jones II"

"What does FP stand for?" She asked curiously. She's never heard this name before.

"Forsythe Pendleton."

"I've never heard this name before."

"Would you mind if I laid him on the sun lounger? He's getting heavy." He chuckled.

"Go ahead." She giggled. "How old is he?"

"He's 7 years old. Turns 8 in three months."

"Just like my daughter. She turns 8 in five months though."

"Where is she?"

"She's in the water right over there." She points at her daughters. "Playing with her big sister who is 8 years old."

"You have a beautiful family." He told her.

"Not so beautiful but thank you. I bet you have though."

"Well, I'm divorced from his mom and she took my daughter away from me. Can't really say it's a beautiful family. I mean I love my kids but I barely get to see my little princess."

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. I'm divorced too. My ex husband cheated on me and now he doesn't want to see the girls again."

"What do the girls have to do with him cheating on you? Honestly I could kill him."

Alice looked at him a little confused. Why would he want to kill him? He has literally nothing to do with them. They just met.

"I'm sorry I got emotional. It's just so sad he doesn't see how beautiful you are inside and out."

After this they met a couple more times and started to fall for each other. They brought the kids to a playground where hotel employees were looking after them. Alice and FP went to a restaurant next to their hotel and were all flirty.

"What would you do if I kissed you?" He asked her after they had finished eating.

"I don't know." She laughed.

He kissed her and she looked at him shocked. She didn't expect him to actually kiss her.

The rest of the night was awkward. She tried to get this kiss out of her head but just couldn't. Thankfully it was their last night there so they probably wouldn't see each other again.

After that vacation they didn't speak another word neither did they see each other again. So imagine her surprised when she saw him at the grocery store.
