Halloween

Today is the day everyone has been waiting for. Today is everyone's favorite holiday, Halloween. The Smith-Jones household decided to spend this day together as a family, watching Halloween movies and going to trick or treat later this night. After they've had breakfast Alice receives a phone call which informs her on short notice that she has to report something in Haydale which is an hour away from Riverdale.

"Kids, I just got a phone call. My agent says I have to report something from Haydale today. I hope I'll be back for trick and treat. I'm really sorry I'm not able to watch Halloween movies with you today." Alice informs her kids. She was really looking forward to this day and now she doesn't even get to spend the entire day with her family.

"It's okay, mom. It's your job. Besides, it's just a few hours. We can watch Halloween movies tonight, hell even tomorrow and for the rest of the year. You go and have fun reporting. We want to see you in front of the camera today." Betty's answer makes Alice smile. She's so proud of the young woman she's become.

"Thanks for understanding, honey." She goes upstairs into her bedroom to get ready and inform FP as well. Alice tells him what she had just told the kids and he really wishes she would be able to stay home with them yet he understands and knows how happy she is with her job as a journalist and he loves to see her smile. Her smile is one of the most beautiful things he's ever seen.

She dresses in her favorite blue suit debating whether to wear her open or in a ponytail. She decides to go with a ponytail and puts on light makeup. As she looks at herself in the mirror, she smiles. She's really satisfied with the way she looks, she's just not looking forward to that long car drive.

As she goes downstairs, she sees everyone cuddled up on the couch. She smiles at the sight,  never having imagined her life to turn out like this but she's very happy it did.

"I have to go now, see you later!"

"Bye, we love you!" Jellybean shouts back at her. Alice really has a special place in her heart, especially after everything that had happened with Gladys.

FP walks up to Alice to properly say goodbye to her. Even though he sees her again in just a few hours, he won't ever miss a chance to let her know that he loves her and she really loves that about him. "Bye, baby," he says. "I hope you have a great time. I love you." He says as he peppers her in kisses.

She just giggles in response. "I love you, too, honey." She gives him one last kiss before stepping out the door walking over to her car. FP closes the door behind her, smiling to himself as he goes back into the living room.

As Alice opens the car door, she notices a note on the steering wheel which says "Drive safe, I need you here with me. -FP" She smiles like a fool and turns on the engine to drive all the way to Haydale.

FP and the kids start decorating the house with all the Halloween decoration they've bought earlier that week while watching Alice's report on the TV. Once they're done with that, they decide to already dress into their Halloween costumes. Jellybean is dressed as Mrs. Incredible, Betty as Jasmine from 'Aladdin' and she somehow got Jughead to dress as Aladdin, so they perfectly fit together. FP is dressed as Mickey Mouse and impatiently waits for Alice to get home, so she could dress up as his Minnie Mouse.

Once Alice gets home, she is impressed by all the work they've done. She quickly goes into her and FP's bedroom to get dressed and as she looks at herself in the mirror, she feels FP's arms wrap around her waist from behind. "You look beautiful." He says as he presses on the side of her neck. She tilts her head to give him better access and just smiles at him. "You don't look bad yourself, Mickey." She giggles and turns to face him, his hands never leave her waist.

She takes his face in her hands and presses a soft kiss onto his lips before looking him into the eyes. "Let's go downstairs, the kids are probably waiting for us." With that said, they meet the kids downstairs. "Okay, Betty, Jug, you two stay here and give out candy to the people that are knocking on the door and we'll go trick and treating with JB. Once we're back-"

"Jug and I go to meet up with Veronica and Archie and you three give candy out. We got it, mom." Betty smiles at her.

"Alright, see you later kids," FP says as they go outside.

They spend a great Halloween together, gaining a lot of candy and as Betty and Jughead head out to meet up with Archie and Veronica, there's a knock on the door. They suppose it's another family but are proven wrong as they open the door.

"Charles, you made it!"

"I told you I'd stop by." He says as he hugs his mom.

"I'm glad you decided not to leave me here alone with these two," Jellybean says jokingly earning a playful glare from both, Alice and FP.

"I would never."

"Hey, we're not that bad." FP pretends to be offended by them.

"Sorry, dad. I just like hanging out with my favorite brother." She says. "And pssst. Don't tell Jughead I've said that." They all share a laugh and spend the evening together, watching Halloween Town, one of their favorite Halloween movies.

A/N:

I actually wanted to write a Oneshot which includes FP leaving that note in Alice's car and since I am really looking forward to Halloween and we know there's going to be a Halloween episode in season 4, I've decided to write a Halloween Oneshot.
