“Morning babe.” I whispered, kissing Valencia awake. She pouted up at me, rubbing the sleep from her eyes.
“Do we have practice today?” She asked, completely disoriented.
“Last practice before prelims.” I answered, smiling at her as I got out of bed to get ready. “Missy just called and said that it’s safe to go back to your room.” She just sighed and pecked me on the lips before passing Ryan as she exited our room.
“So, how was last night?” I smirked, smiling over at Ryan.
“Good. Great. Shut up.” Ryan said, his face flushing. I just laughed and thumped him on the back, knowing he’d share all the details that I don’t want to hear later tonight.
Dragging myself to the pool after a quick breakfast, my smile returned when I saw Sofia and Valencia going through their routine. Just seeing Valencia made me so happy. I couldn’t imagine what would happen if I didn’t have her. Once the two synchronized swimmers had finished their practice, the lap lanes were put back in and I made my way over to where Valencia’s coach, Jeff, and my coach, Bob, were waiting for us. The only time they had been letting the two of us practice together was before big meets. They said that we pushed each other when our minds were in a competition mindset, but distracted each other otherwise.
Valencia and I plunged into the pool, racing each other, pushing each other. It was moments like this that made me wish I could marry her right on the spot. We ran through our practice. I willed it to be over soon, I just wanted to kiss my girlfriend. That was the first thing I did when Bob blew the whistle to tell us that we were done. Valencia giggled into the kiss, pushing me away lightly so that she could catch her breath.

Michael walked me back to the hotel after practice, letting me go spend some time with Rebecca and Missy, knowing that I needed some girl time. I burst into the room, seeing Rebecca and Missy having a pillow fight. My dramatic entrance stopped them in their tracks, however.
“I understand that pillow fights are important, however, I believe Rebecca has some more important sharing to do.” I said, jumping onto the bed with the girls.
“Seriously! I walked past the door and it sounded like a porno!” Missy squealed.
“We didn’t have sex!” Rebecca protested, her face flushing.
“Okay, so what did you do?” I asked, wiggling my eyebrows.
“We almost did. We came back here and there was a lot of kissing, and some touching. Nothing major though!” Rebecca said.
“Okay, well what else did you do all night, then.” Missy asked.
“We talked and cuddled, he was so sweet!” Rebecca squealed, blushing bright red.
“Is Rebecca in loveeeeee?” I teased, making kissy sounds.
“Rebecca and Ryan, sitting in a tree,” Missy started
“K-I-S-S-I-N-G, first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes a baby in the baby carriage!” I sang, joining in with Missy. Rebecca retaliated, slamming a pillow into both of us, causing another pillow fight to ensue.
Once we had finally calmed down, I turned to Rebecca and caught her smile back at me, obviously thinking the same thing.
“So, Missy,” Rebecca started, turning to her.
“Who is this boy who you seem to have a crush on?” I asked, smiling when a blush crossed her face, confirming my thoughts. “If you don’t tell us I think it’s safe to assume that we know him!”
“Fine!” Missy groaned, burying her face in a pillow. “His name is Matt. He goes to my school. I’ve had a crush on him forever!” Rebecca and I listened to how Missy had met Matt and smiled as we set up a plan to help her get him when she got back home. We spent the entire evening just talking about boys and getting into random pillow fights.
