I know it's short that's all I seem to have time for any more. I'm hoping to get ahead in my classes today so I can post more tomorrow. Sorry sorry sorry! :D Good news, bachlor/bachlorette parties are soon...like next chapter soon!
Michael Phelps
I couldn’t believe that I was going to be a dad. Until I met Valencia, having kids never crossed my mind. I couldn’t wait to teach my son how to play catch and how to swim and to teach my daughter how to swim and to watch her learn to dance and to just spoil her rotten. I smiled down at Valencia who had fallen asleep in my arms while we were watching a movie. I carefully picked her up and carried her to bed, trying not to wake her.
I lay down next to her, wondering how I could have found someone so perfect for me.
“Michael.” Valencia whispered, rolling over and moving closer to me. “What do you want it to be?” She asked, laying a hand on her stomach.
“It doesn’t matter. Soon enough we’ll have one of each running around the house and tormenting us.” I whispered, kissing her forehead. “I just want to teach my son how to catch and to watch you teach my daughter how to dance.”
“Can we wait to tell anyone until the reception?” Valencia asked, looking up at me, biting her lip.
“We can wait as long as we want. Don’t people usually wait three months?” I asked.
“I don’t think I could hold it in that long. I’m going to a doctor soon to get it retested so we know for sure. Plus it’ll look odd if I’m not drinking alcohol. Plus every one who I want to know will be there.” She whispered.
“It sounds perfect.” I kissed her gently on the lips, feeling her hands slowly move under my shirt.
The next morning I woke up holding Valencia in my arms. “Morning sleepy head.” She teased.
“What? You could have gotten up.” I joked back.
“Not really. Every time I tried to move you pulled me back and tightened your hold on me. So I was kind of stuck.” Valencia laughed, kissing my nose.
I grinned and pulled her even closer to me. “I just don’t want to let the two of you go.”
“Well you’re going to have to so that I can make sure the little one is there and that all is well.” Valencia said. “I have a doctors appointment in an hour. You’re coming with. And you’re joining me in the shower.”
“Demanding. I like it.” I joked, letting her get out of be.
I sat in the room, holding onto Valencia’s hand later that day while the doctor finished getting the results from the test.
“Perfectly healthy. You are about a month along already. Every thing seems to be going well. I want to see you back in a month just to do another check up.” The doctor finally said, smiling up at us.
Once he left us we stared at each other, smiling like fools.
