Third person P.O.V. Focused on N

N slipped through the trees silently, coming up to the place where the forest ended and meadow began. His sisters Concordia and Anthea didn't like him coming here. They had never seen Jayra, and they didn't know about the feeling N got from her.

People did evil. That was what he believed. They imprisoned pokemon in pokeballs against their will, and forced them to battle. All the pokemon living in the meadow were under N's protection because he had rescued them from trainers who were mistreating them. But Jayra had befriended Zorua, a pokemon who knew firsthand the wickedness humans could commit. Now that they had grown closer over the past weeks, they saw each other almost every day.

N couldn't understand. Why was Jayra different? When he was within sight of the meadow, he hid in a nook between two trees, and watched the girl and Zorua splash around in the stream. They seemed so happy together, it was hard to believe that they had met only a little while ago. Zorua whipped his tail, sending up a wave of water that hit Jayra in the face. She stumbled backward, tripped, and fell over. As he watched them both laughing, N felt a small smile play on his lips.

When the two friends got tired, they sat on the stream bank, and soaked up the sun. N stood to go, looked at them one last time, and slipped of into the trees. The old, stone mansion that he called home was only a half hour walk away, and when he got back, his sisters and their pokemon friends, Gardevior and Gothitelle were there to greet him.

"N, were you visiting that girl again?" Anthea asked harshly.

The green haired teenager looked to the side. "Yes."

"You cannot keep doing that!" said Concordia. "Ghetsis (the Team Plasma boss) just called. He says he needs your help with a pokemon that they just liberated, and to meet Squad A outside Alavill town."

"Now?"

"Now."

With a sigh, N walked back into the forest.

He found Squad A (which consisted of six Team Plasma members) trying to hold down a roaring Salamence. The squad leader ran up to him. "Good, N. You're here. Can you try talking to Salamence? It doesn't seem to understand that we're trying to help it."

"Of course." N replied.

He walked toward Salamence, arms held out in a non threatening manner.

"Shh, my friend. It's okay."

The large dragon type slowed its struggling and turned toward him.

"We aren't going to hurt you, everything will be fine. Just calm down."

As he kept talking in soothing tones, one of the squad clipped something onto Salamence's tail. Salamence blinked a few times, then slowly toppled over. N jumped forward, horrified at what had happened.

"What did you do?!" He yelled.

"Relax." Said the squad leader. "We only put it to sleep so we can move it to its new home easier."

"You didn't tell me you were going to that."

"It doesn't matter, the point is is that we rescued it from its trainer, and now we're letting it go into the wild so that it can live its life without any humans capturing it."

N still felt like this wasn't right, but he said; "Okay, can I be with Salamence when it wakes up?"

The squad leader looked coldly at him. "Your services are not needed here anymore N, you are free to go."

"And what if I want to come?"

"That will not be necessary." While they had been talking, the rest of Squad A had loaded Salamence into a truck, and was starting to pull away. The squad leader ran after it, and jumped aboard. "Good bye N. Thank you for your assistance."

"Wait!" N cried. But the truck was already out of sight.

Feeling very uneasy, N walked back home, and into his room. What had happened with Salamence was different then how Team Plasma normally worked. It was like it had been more... uncaring.

The next day, N went back to the meadow to watch Jayra and Zorua play together. As dusk neared, Jayra was called in to dinner by her parents, and Zorua headed back to his den. N followed the fox pokemon, determined to ask him a question.

"Zorua!" He called.

The pokemon turned.

"N! What are you doing here?"

"I wanted to ask you something."

"What is it?"

"Why are you friends with the human girl?" N held his breath as Zorua thought for a long time before answering.

"Jayralia combines a lot of things that normally do not go together, and she looks at the world in her own way. It makes her different. Why do you ask?"

"Oh," N said. "I was just wondering."

Zorua nodded, then disappeared into his den, leaving N alone with his thoughts.

Third person P.O.V.

At Team Plasma testing base, Squad A was reporting the success of their mission.

"Soon all we will need N for is the ceremony," the squad leader said.

"But we still do not know when the device will be finished!" Ghetsis snapped back, pacing. "We need him to stay with us a little longer. You were too rough with him. You must show him what he wants to see, and that will keep him close to us until he is of no more use to us."

"I understand sir."

They both looked into a test room with hard, steel walls through a glass window where Salamence was tied down. An odd device that looked similar to a satellite on wheels shot a beam of light into his forehead. He roared in pain, then shot a powerful Hyper Beam back at the maker of the ray that had given him so much agony. The device exploded, and if Ghetsis and the squad leader hadn't been behind protective glass, they would have been seriously hurt.

"Who did not restrain Salamence properly?" Ghetsis asked calmly.

"I don't know, sir." The squad leader said.

"Well find out who, and make sure they are properly punished. We now need to start from scratch to recreate the main piece for our master plan."

The squad leader turned to go, but was stopped by Ghetsis saying; "You see? This is why we must not let N leave us until we want him to. Make sure to find a way to gain his trust back, and keep finding pokemon test subjects. We're going to need them."

Dun dun duuuuuuuh! Also, if you read something I've written at any time and it looks different, that's because I went back and changed it to make it better, or fixed some mistakes.
