Third person P.O.V. Focused on Jayralia
Jayra slowly opened her eyes to sunlight streaming in through her window. She felt refreshed, and comfortable in her bed, and didn't want to get up yet, so she just rolled over, and closed her eyes again. Everything was perfect, she would get to play with Zorua today, and she...
Tap. tap. tap.
What was that sound? Groaning, she rolled back over, and was surprised to see Zorua in the tree next to her window which he had been tapping. She jumped out of bed, and opened her window so the black furred pokemon could come in.
"Hi, Zorua!" She greeted. "What are you doing here?"
Zorua hopped into her room, started walking in place, then pointed to the girl. Jayra, used to his miming to comunicate, understood at once.
"You came to see me?" She asked delightedly. Normally she was the one to go find him.
Zorua nodded, and sat on her floor looking at her expectantly.
"Alright, alright," she said laughing. "I'll get dressed so we can go play. I still have to eat though, do you want to join me?"
He nodded again, and she showed him out of her room so she could change out of her pajamas. Jayra threw on shorts and a T-shirt, then went downstairs with Zorua at her side.
Her mom and dad were eating at the table, and she grabbed some berries and toast before sitting down to join them. When they saw Zorua following her, they both did a double take.
"Um, Jayra, isn't that your friend Zorua?" Her mom asked.
"Yep."
"How did he get in the house?" Said her dad.
"He climbed the tree next to my window, and woke me up, so I let him in."
"Oh."
They made some small talk after that, with Jayra tossing berries to Zorua for him to catch and eat.
When she was finished, she put her plate in the sink, called out; "I'm going to go play! Be back for lunch!" before running out the door with Zorua at her heels.
They ran over the crest of a hill, and Jayra saw a glimpse of a Diglet before it noticed her, yelped, and dove back underground.
"Zorua," she asked. "Why are the pokemon in the meadow so afraid of me?"
The black fox thought for a minute, then made a lot of complicated motions with his paws and tail that Jayra couldn't follow. "Wait, wait, wait. I didn't understand that, could you please do it again?"
But after five times of not getting what Zorua was trying to tell her, Jayra had an idea. "Do you think you could do the thing where you turn into a human?"
Zorua wrinkled his snout.
"I know you don't like doing it, but I think what you're trying to tell me is too long to act it all out."
He sighed, and before Jayra could blink, a familiar, pale skinned boy sat next to her where the pokemon had been a moment before.
"All the pokemon in this meadow have been mistreated by humans." He said. "Some of them belonged to trainers who didn't care for them, some of them had their homes destroyed by people, whatever happened to any of them, they all don't trust humans."
