Chapter 11

PHOEBE'S POV

After I got my group, we all went to the next room.

ME: "Okay, if the 10 of you would line up, we will be able to get started."

They lined up and I looked them over. The first 2 kids were twins. The 3rd, 4th, & 5th kids were holding hands. The 6th & 7th kids were a boy and girl. Though they looked very much alike. twins. The last 3 were triplets.

ME: "Okay so this is how this is going to work. I am going to ask for each of you names and ages. Once that is done I will help you find your parents."

The kids smiled. I grabbed a clipboard and walked over to the first 2 kids. The twins. I smiled at them and bent down.

ME: "You girls must be twins. Are you guys okay?"

Twin1: "yes. We are okay. We have each other."

The other girl nodded. I smiled.

ME: "Can I have you names please?"

Twin1: "My name is Avalon Taylor & this is my twin sister, Ariana Taylor."

ME: "And how old are you Ariana?"

AVALON: "We are 6 years old."

I looked at Ariana in confusion.

AVALON: "She doesn't talk. Ever since our mommy died in the fire, she's been mute. We talk through thoughts. I read her mind and she reads mine."

I nodded. Then I had an idea. I started to think my conversations. I turned to Ariana.

Me: 'Hey Ariana, how are you?'

Ari: 'I am okay. Me and my sister were taken from our home a few days after the fire. I miss my daddy. Will you find him?'

Me: 'Of course Ari.'

ME: "Okay Ariana& Avalon, I need you both to sit over there while I get the other's information. Then we can get all of you home."

They nodded and walked to the couch.

I turned to the next 3 kids. The ones holding hands.

ME: "So...can I get your names?"

They just stood there and looked at me.

I looked at the twins for help.

Ari: 'They are scared. Use a quieter voice. Ms. Virginia used to yell at them a lot.'

Me: 'thank you Ariana.'

I turned back to the 3 kids. I decided to use thought speak since my voice was loud to them.

Me: 'hey guys. I'm sorry for talking loud. Is this okay?'

GIRL1: "Yes that is perfect."

Me: 'So you can talk.'

GIRL1: "Yes but I like it when you talk in thought. No one has ever done that. They only yell at us. My name is Matilda and this is my brother John and my other sister Sabrina. Thank you for saving us Phoebe."

Me: 'If we hadn't met Karina we wouldn't be here. Karina saved you all. Can I get your ages?'

JOHN: "I am 7."

SABRINA: "I am 6."

MATILDA: "I am 8."

Me: 'Thank you. I promise we will find your parents.'

MATILDA: "Come on guys let's go sit by Ari and Ava."

I smiled as they walked away.

Now the girl and boy. I turned to them and smiled.

ME: "Are you two, twins?"

BOY: "Yes, we are. We were separated from our parents when we were on vacation."

GIRL: "We were in Hawaii 2 years ago with our parents. They told use to wait for them while they checked in at the hotel."

BOY: "We were captured a few minutes after they left. My name is Samuel."

GIRL: "And I'm Samantha."

ME: "And how old are the 2 of you?"

S&S: "10!"

They giggled then walked over to the couch.

Last was the triplets. I looked at them.

ME: "So you 3 are triplets?"

They looked at me.

Ari: 'They are mute too but they are human. They can not talk in thought.'

Me: 'thank you again Ari.'

She nodded.

ME: "If I give you a piece of paper and pen will you 3 write your names and ages on it?"

They nodded. I smiled and grabbed the clipboard. I gave the 1st girl the clipboard.

She wrote "Desirhae" and 7 years old. She looked at the girl next to her and gave her the clipboard. She wrote "Destiny" and 7 years old. Destiny then past the clipboard to the last girl and she wrote "Demetria" and 7 years old. Demetria handed the clipboard back to me. It was quickly yanked away by Destiny. She began to write. When she was done, she gave it back.

'We were taken away while playing in our back yard. We screamed but no one heard us. We have been here for about 3 years.'

I nodded and they ran to the couch. I turned around and looked at them all.

ME: "So...if I am correct, I have in front of me...Avalon & Ariana; John, Sabrina, & Matilda; Samuel & Samantha; and Destiny, Desirhae, and Demetria. Am I correct?"

Everyone nodded. I smiled.

ME: "Okay everyone if you will just follow me, my parents will get you all home safe and sound."

They all ran up to me and hugged me. I smiled as they cheered and hugged each other. Then we walked to the van.
