*Niall’s POV*

A week. It’s been a week since the accident. A week since Jean and Emma were in a comma.

It had been only a week since my life went to hell. Simon and management had been calling us nonstop. We’ve ignored every single call. The last time we spoke was when we told them we were cancelling the tour indefinitely, whether they liked it or not.

“Hello.” I choked out into the phone. I figured it was time to give them some answers.

“Where the hell are you guys?! Do you not understand the risk I took with you guys? I risked my career on you guys! And this is how you repay me?” Simon yelled at me through the phone.

“Our tour bus hit Emma’s car. She’s in a comma. So is Jean. It isn’t looking good. Especially for Jean. A piece of glass punctured her heart. They’re both on life support. You can’t even recognize Emma at the moment. So Uncle Simon I’m sorry that we decided to put our career on hold, but we felt like this was more important.” I managed to get out, without the tears falling.

“What hospital are you guys at?”

“Mercy Central.”

“I’ll be there in five.”

“We’re not leaving.”

“I’m not asking you to.” And with that he hung up.

*Louis POV*

I can’t believe this is happening. We need to tell Niall the news.

Aunt Jean didn’t make it. Emma also coded. But they got her back.

Life isn’t fair.

No one knows what to do. We all try to comfort each other, but it doesn’t work. We haven’t left the hospital once. We all stink terribly.

“Simon’s on his way.” Niall informed us walking back in the room.

“Jean’s gone Nialler. Emma codded again. But they got her back.” I rushed out in one breath, afraid I’d lose it if I didn’t stop thinking about it.

Everyone’s eyes were bloodshot and puffy. Our clothes were rumbled, our hair looked hideous. But we really didn’t car. Paparazzi had managed to get shots of us, but we’d avoided all questions, and the hospital did a good job of keeping them out.

Niall slowly sank to the floor. This has to be hard on him. Jean was like a second mother to him. She was starting to become like that for all of us. Suddenly the nurse, Rose, walked in.

“Guys, Emma’s breathing on her own.” She said before giving us a small smile and walking out.

“That’s good. That means she’s improving. And getting better.” Harry said lifting his head off of Lily’s shoulder.

That was another thing. Lily and Perrie were long lost sister’s and Emma was their long lost cousin, and Jean was their long lost mother.  What a messed up world we live in.

Lily nodded. “Yeah. And I get to meet my long lost cousin.” She said trying to be optimistic. I chose not to comment on the fact that she would never know her mother.

This is a really weird feeling for me. I’m scared. Like I never have been before. And my eyes, I can just tell aren’t sparkling like they usually do. But, then again, who expects them to?

“Where is she?” Simon yelled running into the waiting room.

“She’s back in a private room. Jean’s gone.” I whispered not looking up. He sighed.
