Dalton felt different now that Kurt was back at McKinley. Blaine missed going to school with his boyfriend, but he knew Kurt was really excited to be back with his friends.

They had a coffee date later that day. Blaine was more excited than he would have wanted to admit.

Kurt was sitting at a little round table with a big smile when Blaine walked into the Lima Bean that afternoon.

"I missed you," Blaine said as a greeting.

Kurt reached across the table and took Blaine's hand. "I missed you, too. You should come to McKinley," he said nonchalantly.

"Maybe I should," Blaine replied thoughtfully. He'd been missing Kurt a little more than usual lately. If they went to the same school again, maybe it would be better.

Kurt looked up in surprise. "Wait, for real? You'd actually come?"

Blaine chuckled. "Of course! I love you, Kurt."

"I love you, too. Oh my god, this is so exciting! You can join New Directions, and we can sit together at lunch, and..."

Blaine smiled as he listened to Kurt go on about the idea of Blaine's transfer.

"I'll ask my parents about it tonight," Blaine said. It wasn't until Kurt left that he started worrying that they wouldn't allow it.

Now that they had talked about it, Blaine was really hoping to be able to transfer to Mckinley. He wanted to be with Kurt.

Blaine's parents were sitting at the kitchen table when he got home.

"Hey, guys, can I talk to you about something?" Blaine said warily.

Mr. Anderson rolled his eyes. "What, are you going to come out as straight now?"

Any confidence Blaine has gathered to ask his parents of this was knocked out of him with that one snide remark.

Mrs. Anderson gave her husband a look, which he ignored. "Well?" He said impatiently.

"Um, I was just wondering if maybe you guys would consider letting me transfer to Mckinley High in Lima," Blaine said in one breath.

"Why?" Asked Mr. Anderson immediately.

"Because that's where Kurt goes to school, and I really miss being with him during the day, and I really think it will be good."

"Why would I let you switch to a public school just so you can cut class to be with your boyfriend?" Mr. Anderson spat the last word like it tasted bad.

"I won't cut class."

"And how do I know that for sure?"

"I promise. I just love him, and I-"

Blaine's father scoffed. "You love him? Blaine, you're sixteen. How can you possibly know that? How do you even know you're gay?"

Instead of answering, Blaine pushes his chair away from the table and hurried upstairs to his room and called Kurt.

"Hey. How'd it go?" Kurt asked.

"My dad won't let me transfer. The whole time I was trying to convince him he kept making subtle homophobic comments, and it just really sucked." Blaine could tell he was close to tears, and it sounded like Kurt could too.

"I'm coming over."

Blaine waited on the front porch until Kurt's car pulled into the driveway.

"Are you okay?" Was his greeting.

Kurt sat on the steps beside Blaine in the dark, the porch light overhead.

"Not really. I wish I could go to school with you so badly," Blaine whispered. He reached over and took Kurt's hand, resting his head on the taller boy's shoulder.

"We'll survive," Kurt whispered back. Blaine used his other hand to turn Kurt's head towards his own, pulling him in for a kiss.

"I love you no matter what school you go to," Kurt breathed.
