Scary Ghost Princess

Not many minutes passed before the doors of their cell were open by the guards. One by one, they were uncuffed off the floor.

The king stood outside waiting for them to be released. And as soon as Sam was free, she ran towards his arms.

"Sam!"

"Danny!," she said breaking the hug. "I knew you would find-"

The illumination was not the best, and Sam may not have seen the ectoplasm on Danny's robes, at first. But once she felt it, she saw it as clear as day. "What did you do?" she whispered.

"I freed you, that's what I did," he stated and turned to his classmates. "Hello, I am Prince Daniel Phantom, despite what others may have told you I am not king yet."

"What do you have on your robes? ...Umh Your Majesty?" Simon inquired.

He made a dismissive wave. "It's ectoplasm but don't worry about it. Danny came to me when you didn't appear after a couple of hours and I managed to save you in time."

They were silent for a while, it was no secret that ectoplasm was many things to ghosts, but it was clear that the one that tainted the robes of the king was the blood of one of his subjects.

"In time for what?" Paulina questioned in a squeak.

"Well, there are ancient laws stating that any human that passes the 3 visiting hours, or so to say, can be put in prison and becomes the property of the jailer. You would have been made slaves if I had not intervened on time," he said looking at Sam at the end. He didn't want her mad at him, Danny did what he had to do to avenge his family and to state very clearly his message: nobody was to touch his family.

"Oh," Maddie said, "then thank you, Phan-"

"You may address me as Prince Daniel; though the ghosts call me King Daniel. Other names like Your Majesty and the like work too," Danny clarified.

"Just a question Your Highness!" Dash said. "I thought you were younger and that ghosts didn't age."

"If you are born a ghost, you will grow up but only until a certain age. If you die and then become a ghost, you will not." Danny did not mention his special case. And if he didn't, the guards were not planning on doing it.

"Should we go back?" Reggie asked.

Danny nodded. "Follow me, humans. We shall use the transport of this prison."

Sam rolled her eyes, he was being dramatic.

"Welcome to Palace Phantom, King Daniel," a maid said when Danny and the rescued humans entered.

"Aggie, please you know you can call me Danny," he said with a soft smile.

"I am aware of that King Daniel," she smirked, "your daughter was looking for you."

"Tell her I am with the humans," he said. "Aggie, could you lead us to the rest before going to her?"

She nodded and guided them to a big chamber on the second floor. "They are here, Your Majesty. I shall go and fetch the princess," she said before bowing and disappearing. Literally becoming invisible.

Danny opened the door and let them pass. He was off to close the door when a scream pierced the room. "Where is Danny?" Maddie yelped.

"I don' know, Madds!" Jack replied. "He said he was going to look for you and the others and I haven't seen him since!"

"Don't worry Mr and Mrs Fenton," Danny assured them. "Your son is just in his private chambers, he was exhausted and I ordered him to sleep a little."
