"Um no." I said firmly. Staring at Aimee and Kris. The two had a slight amount of tension after meeting, but I was hopeful it would go away.
"You should." Aimee said.
"I agree with Annabeth." Kris said, obviously not happy about it.
"Guys. Luke and I aren't even dating why would I meet his parents?" I asked, rolling my eyes.
"Because he asked." Kris answered. We were in the bleachers watching the lacrosse team practice. Misty was sick so cheer practice was cancelled, and Aimee and I didn't feel like walking home. Before practice, Luke had asked me to come to dinner at his house tonight, something I hadn't even begun to remotely consider.
"It's been a weekend."
"Oh come on it's been like three weeks, you just spent some of that time with someone else." Kris scoffed. I stared at her.
"Three weeks is enough to be meeting the parents?" I asked.
"If you know you know." Kris said with a shrug.
"Okay, I know that I'm not ready to meet his parents!" I yipped, getting overwhelmed. "We haven't even been on an official date yet!" Aimee rolled her eyes.
"You always are one to over think." She said with a tsk. "Just tell him that then." She always took my attitude and never got offended.
"Yeah, I will." I said, my eyes leaving hers to watch Luke run back and forth along the field. "Do you think it'll upset him?"
"He seems like a reasonable person-" Aimee started.
"I think he'll be hurt." Kristy cut her off, earning a death glare. "He doesn't just introduce people to his family."
"I think he'll understand, if I try to explain it." I said. "He gets me. He'll understand." I was trying to convince myself. Practice was wrapping up and Luke and Drew came up to the foot of the bleachers. We wandered down to meet them.
"Hey cutie." Luke said, reaching out to grab my hand.
"Ready to go?" Drew asked Aimee, she nodded. "Are we taking you too Kris?" Kris shook her head.
"No, I just wanted to hang out with Arabella for a bit." She said.
"And me right?" Aimee asked jokingly. I kicked the back of her leg subtly and made a face. Like snickered. While the other three bickered he studied me.
"Dinner?"
"I'm not ready to have dinner with your family." I said. Luke smiled.
"Who said anything about them being there?" I stared at him. "I was thinking we could eat dinner, work on your calculus lesson, and maybe make out a bit. I make a really good spaghetti and meatball dish."
"Wait, so your family -"
"They are out of town for my brother's first starting game at UCLA." He explained. "I like you Bells. But introducing you to my family is a little quick don't you think?" He joked. I pushed his shoulder lightly and he flinched a little.
"You okay?" I asked. He masked it quickly and smiled.
"I will be if you say yes to dinner." I rolled my eyes.
"Yes, you can cook me dinner and do my homework and maybe I'll kiss you after." I said with a smirk. He rolled his eyes. "Hey, Annabeth, I'm going over to Luke's. You and Andrew good?" They both nodded to me. Aimee looked very pleased by my decision. "Okay, I'll see you guys later." I jumped over the banister and Luke gracefully caught me. We began the walk to his Jeep. "What's wrong with your shoulder?" I asked.
