Sorry guys, this ones a little shorter because if I included the party in this part it was probably going to be really long. Also, I feel like my story has been lacking in some stuff, so I would love to get some feedback from you guys. Whether it's just encouraging little comments or recommendations, I will love hearing from you guys either way.
First Person POV
After about an hour of sobbing into Melissa's arms, we decided to call it a day. She asked me how much longer I planning on staying in town, and I had to explain to her that I had to go back home to Virginia. She was very understanding and gave me her phone number so I could call and talk to her and Scott every now and then. I was happy that she was so welcoming and understanding of me. I felt like I actually belonged there, and that I wouldn't be judged for who I am. However, I'm worried for Melissa and Scott. I don't know if Scott knows about the supernatural, but Melissa obviously does. I don't know if them knowing is a good thing or a bad thing. I don't want them to get hurt because of what they know or because they knew about me. I need to do something that will keep them safe before I leave town.
Right now, I am on my way to Beacon Hills High School to pick up Lydia, and trying to stop myself from crying enough to look presentable. She would automatically know that I was crying earlier just from a sniffle, and knowing her, she would automatically expect the worst. I parked the car and saw all of the students hanging around the parking lot, and they all stared at me and gave me weird looks when they saw me pulling up in Lydia's car. I got out and searched the entire parking lot for the strawberry blonde head of hair I know too well. I was walking across the parking lot doing so, until someone called my name. I looked over to see Scott.
"Scott, hey," I smiled at him.
He smiled back at me and looked over at his friend to tell him he would be back. He walked over to me and stood in front of me with an awkward smile, causing me to do the same thing.
"So, uh, cousin, how did things go with mom," He questioned me.
"Well, um, I know more about my, I mean, out family. I understand my mood swings I most definitely have," I sighed out to him, causing him to nod in understanding.
We stood in silence for a moment before Scott decided to break it. "I'm sorry for how I treated you earlier, when we first met. If I would have known that you were my cousin, I would have acted completely different."
"It's fine, Scott. Being mischievous must run in the family because I would have done the same exact thing," I shrugged.
Scott gave me a small smile and pulled me into a no longer awkward and long hug. I stood in shock for a second before I brought my arms around him as well and gave him a big hug. The two of us stood there enjoying our hug as cousins before pulling away. He nodded at me as a farewell and I nodded back to him. I was going to go and turn around to continue looking for Lydia, but Scott stopped me before I could.
"Bella, if you don't mind me asking, what are you doing here? I know it's not for me, because there is no way you knew I went to school here, unless mom told you, so it has to be for some other reason. Are you coming to register for school or something?"
"Oh, no, I'm not registering for school. In fact, I'm not staying here in California. I'm originally from Virginia, and my sister and brother are still there with my aunt. I need to go back to them, they need me. Maybe someday, I'll come and stay here for a while, but not anytime soon."
Scott nodded at me in understanding. "What are you doing here then?"
"I'm looking for my friend Lydia. She goes to school here and I borrowed her car today, so I'm supposed to pick her up after school," I explained to him.
