"You and I should get away for a while, I just wanna be alone with your smile." - "First Date" by Blink 182
---
The day following Luke's Halloween party was (in Ashton's opinion) extremely loud. However, that could have been a side effect of his raging hangover. Regardless he was aware of every chime and whistle, and god did he want to drown it all out.
"It's tomorrow, I'm allowed to be mad at you now." Exclaimed an overly peppy Scarlett as she walked into her room. Ashton had found comfort in the quiet of her room while their friends caused commotion in the living room.
"Nothing a cuddle won't fix." He smirked and stretched his arms out to embrace her.
"No." She swatted his hands away, "A cuddle won't fix this." Scarlett perched her body at the end of the bed and rested one hand on Ashton's leg.
"I'm sorry I drank okay? But I think this hangover is punishment enough." He sighed and rubbed the temples of his forehead.
"Jesus Ash, I'm not here to punish you!" Scarlett yelled out of frustration. She felt bad for yelling when she saw Ashton wince but this was his fault.
"Scar, sweetheart, let's just have a lazy day and I'll make it up to you." He tried to persuade her but didn't get very far.
"You keep saying you're going to make it up to me and you never do! How am I suppose to believe you anymore?" Scarlett asked, extremely annoyed by how selfish Ashton was being.
Ashton had a plan, one that he had thought about every day for the past two weeks. Getting drunk at Luke's party was definitely not part of the plan, but it was working to his advantage.
"Be ready to go out by nine in the morning tomorrow. I'll show you how you can believe me." He soothed. Scarlett seemed to like that answer as she curled up in her bed right next to Ashton, where she belonged.

Ashton checked out himself one last time in the reflection of Scarlett's window before he knocked twice. Scarlett swung the door open and he had to remind himself to breathe, he was stunned. She stood there in a simple outfit of jeans and a white blouse but she never looked better.
"Ready to show me, Mr. Irwin?" She taunted and they both laughed.
"Ready, Miss Pierce." He nodded and held out his elbow to which she linked arms with.
Ashton needed everything to go just right, he had to make a lasting impression on Scarlett. This including opening her car door for her, allowing her to pick the music, and not rolling the windows down so she didn't mess up her hair.
Scarlett on the other hand, was confused. Normally a day out with Ashton involved fast food, lounge pants, and maybe a few stops along the way. She loved just driving around the area with him, talking about everything and anything. Yet today he was awfully quiet.
"Where are you taking us?" Scarlett piped up after several minutes of silence.
"A surprise destination." He smirked and giggled when he saw the pout on her face. "It's not much farther."
"But... We're in the middle of no where." Scarlett pointed out. It was true, one side of the road had a lightly forested area, the other had a wide field.
"That's the fun of it." Ash smiled as he turned into the field. The car bumped and jerked along the soil and Scarlett panicked a bit.
"You're not going to murder me out here, are you?" She teased and Ashton began to slow the car down before halting completely.
"Of course not." He smiled and unlocked the car doors.
"What are we doing out here?" She asked hesitantly.
"Picnic breakfast!" He reached into the backseat and sure enough there was a basket hidden under several blankets.
"But why all the way out here?"
"It's quiet." Ashton shrugged and got out of the car. He ran around the front to the other side so he could open Scarlett's door and she couldn't help but laugh.
"I'm pregnant, not disabled."
"Can't you just let me be a gentlemen for once?" He huffed and helped her out of the car.
"Not really, no." She smiled and watched as Ashton set up a blanketed area.
"Come sit with me!" He whined and Scarlett did just that.

"I forgive you." Scarlett whispered. The pair had been lying on their backs watching the clouds pass by for a while now. The only conversation shared was a dispute over a cloud that Scarlett thought was a bunny but Ashton thought it was a duck. They had fallen into a comfortable silence until Scarlett spoke those three little words.
"I'm so sorry, I don't deserve your apology." Ashton mumbled as he raised her hand to his lips and kissed it gently.
"You don't deserve it, but you get it anyway." She laughed and rolled onto her side to face him.
"You have such a kind heart." He smiled and mimicked her, rolling onto his side as well.
"Not really." She blushed.
"Yes really! You're so kind, even to the worst of people. You work hard everyday at your job just to make little girls dreams come true, even though yours are on hold. You're so damn smart too, doesn't your head hurt with that big brain? Of course, you wouldn't tell anyone if it did. That's just the sort of person you are, you'd rather suffer and not say a word if you thought it would annoy someone. But it's not annoying, and it'll never be annoying. I can't believe you don't see how beautiful you are either, even when you don't try. You're gorgeous. I'll never get over the butterflies that I get when I see you wearing my clothes. I never want to get over them. I know I'm rambling but it's true and I guess I just want to ask, will you be my girlfriend?"
